  Anadoluhisarı known historically as Güzelce Hisar ("the Beauteous Castle") is a medieval fortress located on the Anatolian (Asian) side of the Bosporus. The complex is the oldest surviving Turkish architectural structure built in Istanbul.
  Built in 1394, Constructed on an area of 7,000 square metres (1.7 acres). Erected primarily as a watch fort, the citadel has a 25 meters tall, quadratic main tower within the walls of an irregular pentagon, with five watchtowers at the corners.

  The complex is the oldest surviving Turkish architectural structure built in Istanbul.Anadoluhisarı was built between 1393 and 1394 on the commission of the Ottoman Sultan Bayezid I, as part of his preparations for a siege on the then-Byzantine city of Constantinople, the naval blockade of which took place in 1395 under Bayezid's orders.

  it's the legend! Many historical events but I wish they preserved it better. Little little cafes and restaurants need to be regulated or rearranged. This place could be much much better. We it too much I think that's why our guys don't care as much. Shame

  Pretty and relaxing place with many cafe and restaurants around. Often underrated but it is definitely one of the best spots to enjoy the view of Bosphorus. Easily accessible via boat from the European side and via buses/minibuses from the Asian side.

  One annoying thing is that road passes through the middle of Anatolian Fortress. It seems neglected since there is no way to climb to it but historical significance is of course priceless

  Before the attack, the ottomans did not allow any ship to come to byzantine. They were bombarding them from this castle and the other on europe side.
