Probably the best italian restaurant in chiang mai. Food is tasty, not overly expensive and the place has a chill vibe. During peak hours the staff seems to be overwhelmed at times and less attentive.

This place has some of the best pizzas you can get in Chiang Mai. They’re a very good size so you won’t be going home hungry. All of the pizzas are wood oven cooked and they range from about 180- over 300 baht depending on how gourmet you want it. Every table has some chili olive oil which I highly recommend you pour over your pizza! #BeatTheGrind

Great selection of Italian cuisine. The taste was authentic and delicately made. Pizzas are reccommended.
Nice choices for vegetarian too.
The ambiance was romantic and suitable for dining with your date.
Service was adequate. The table srevice can speak English. -

Amazing experience about Italian food. Many wines, great taste of burrata, pizza low salt, crazy explosion of taste in your mouth. Mediterranean salad is like a gastronomic orgasm in Chiang Mai. Love it, must try all the cheese and cold cuts

Great service and always good food whether it's pizza, pasta or anything else. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality of food you get. They lose one star for allowing smoking at the outside tables. Not very pleasant to have people smoking at the next table while you are eating.

Been a fan of this relaxed and enjoyable restaurant for some time. Yesterday had Christmas lunch with friends. It was a set price buffet with twenty different appetizers, pastas and mains, all cooked to order and you could have as many dishes as you wanted. As ever the service was quick, friendly and capable despite the fact that the place was packed. It was excellent food and terrific value. A place that I recommend.

Fresh well cooked ingredients. Good house wine and excellent and very well kept wine cellar and sales. Good pricing. Friendly helpdul staff. First time here and met up with owners of a good out of town resort we had just visited.
Looking forward to trying their fish menu next.
PS I don't review places I don't intend to return to. -

Had a large group, 25+, go to eat at Why Not? They extended our booking easily when more people showed up.
Separate bills no problem. Payments were easy also.
Food seemed to be good around the table. My Caesar Salad was a variation on normal Caesars and didn't have a typical creamy sauce, but it was still good.
One problem however was it was still repeating on me all night. This is quite unusual.
I will go again and try something different though. -

Very tasty and good service. Nice open plan dining area (like a front garden) and very tasty pizza. A slight bit on the expensive side, but I guess you're paying for the quality of the ingredients.

I've been here several times including hosting some events here for 20 people or more and they've always gone very smoothly. I've been to other events in CM where split bills and non-thai speakers caused chaos when it came to payment at the end of the night so I've been very happy with the handling of groups at Why Not. Food is pricey but good. Atmosphere in the outdoor area is great.

Food is ok. One star for the appalling backlash I got for giving the place "only" 3 stars on Facebook. It wasn't even a bad review! These guys don't handle criticism well, be warned. Highly sensitive and will retaliate with bullying and schoolyard tactics (maybe that's why they operate in Thailand as opposed to Italy?).
The pesto pasta and cheeses are good. Pizza is very average. The service is a bit slow and very disorganized, especially with a large group. It's not so much the prices of the meals that bother me, it's the service fee tacked onto the bill. Absolutely criminal.
The location is gorgeous however. Perfect for a date night. -

Why not?? Because it is a rip off!!!! The portions of food were ridiculously small, it was a really expensive snack that didnt even taste good. Ive had better tasting frozen supermarket pizza that had twice as much toppings. ALSO THE PRICES ON THE MENU DO NOT INCLUDE THE EXTRA TAXES THEY CHARGE AT THE END.

My husband an me fell in love with this nice Italian Restaurant, which is located at Nimmanhaemin (Soi 11 & 13 - there are 2 entrances).
Great food! Nothing for VEGANS but most definitely for Vegetarians! And meat eaters as well as Cheese Wine lovers!
Super awesome menu - everything homemade and yummy.

After spending several winters in Chiang Mai we have decided that Why Not is the best Italian restaurant. Gone there at least 12 times. It's our special spot. I don't say this lightly the "best ceaser salad" I've ever had!! We have tried so many different items, yeah we have favorites, but we never had a bad dish served to us here. GREAT wine list, house wine at 700 baht a liter and the list can fulfill any wine lovers taste and budget. Lovely indoors or outdoors seating, attentive owner. So good I hesitate to review, but the owner deserves rewards for his work and commitment.

Very enjoyable restaurant, choice of indoor or outdoor dining, pleasant gardens. Great selection of wines, various prices for all budgets. We have eaten there twice, first time, delicious pasta, last night a wonderful wood fired oven pizza. Emilo the owner, explained to us that on the weekends they always have special dishes made with seafood imported. Unfortunately we didn't have our best appetite last night, next Sat. We will make sure that we bring a good appetite so that we can try what looked like amazing dishes. Great value
