I had to stay at this airport 9 HOURS!!!! And let me tell you, it was the worst 9 hours of my life. It was so incredibly humid, I was practically melting, and there were no chairs to sit on to wait. Please install some air conditioners so people don't have to suffer the 9 hours of pure agony that I did. Oh, and don't even get me started on the bathrooms, they looked like that hadn't been cleaned in a century, it was absolutely DIS-GUS-TANG!

The international airport is pretty large. When we first got here, I was surprised to see so much decor inside, almost like a museum. You can definitely take your time and walk around since there are lots of shops and lots of things to see

This Suvarnabhumi airport - appreciate the cleaning staff and the security services. Clean and well connected transport services. The duty free service and the food court facilities with shopping areas is too good and conveniently located. However, the VAT refund area is bit crowded by the Chinese tourists. The immigration officers are kind but they need to add more staff during the peak hours. The airport lounge is quiet good and continuously refills the refreshments area. Fantastic and caring service staff.

Getting to the airport is really well (45 baht only by special train).

Wifi is free and quick enough to even have a call.

Food had reasonable prices for the airport and was tasty.

Immigration was quick and well done, passport control before departing was much longer and problematic as very easy to fill an Immigration Card, which I've filled on first day in Thailand and forgot about keeping it near myself.

Airport is well signed, you can easily find a way to place you want, like departure/taxi etc.

One of the busiest airports I have seen. While they have all the facilities inside the airport, I didn’t like being made to wait in the queue for hours to get 2 week long Thai tourist visa (compulsory for al those who check in there for more than 24 hours even if you there on transit!) for 2000 baht. I was in transit and I had my flight on the next day, and yet I had to get this visa. I felt the price was crazy high for those on transit and there for just a couple of hours. Plus, most of the people don’t speak good English and they aren’t good enough in offering help when needed. I lost my flight tickets and when I asked for directions to get a new copy, they keep saying, “Wait!!! Or wait a moment please!” And some said, “Go right, then left and then....” But you can only understand that if you get their English first.

One of the best airport, the Visa on Arrival just makes it so much simpler to get to.
Indian passport holders will require the following documents to avail the Visa on Arrival service:
    • Airline Boarding Pass
    • A passport that is valid for at least 6 months following your departure date with at least 2 remaining unused pages for any necessary entry and exit stamps that may be issued
    • A completed visa application form available at Immigration checkpoints in Thailand
    • One recent photograph of 4 x 6 centimetres headshot not older than 6 months.
    • A confirmed airline ticket showing the departure from Thailand within 15 days of the date of entry. Land exit from Thailand will disqualify you for Visa on Arrival.
    • A completed Arrival-Departure card, which the airline staff will distribute before landing in Thailand
    • Visa on Arrival application fee of 2,000 Baht*

Agree with all the good stuff in other reviews - but please ensure you have enough time for security. Whether it was a busy day, or we picked the wrong line, it took 45 minutes to get through the X-ray scanners. Looked not too unusual as security were doing traffic control up the escalators to avoid a crush/accident. Scanning is a little slower than some other airports as shoes, watches, belts, wallets and all have to be removed for scanning.

Also probably worth mentioning that airport prices are typically double or more outside, so get your souvenirs and snacks in the city before you come to the airport.

And finally if you need one last massage before you leave, there was a massage place on the ground floor near the arrivals exit. not sure about prices.

One of the nicest and busiest airport I have been. Staff are nice and you can roam around the place together with friends who take you to the airport while waiting for check-in, there's a food court at ground floor with a nice food at reasonable price. There's also 7/11 and family mart where you can easily grab some food and drinks while waiting! Clean and convenient!

This is a very renown airport among all East Asia. It is a very good junction to go other nearby countries. Passengers enjoy different modern hospitality here like free internet, drinkable water etc. Since Thailand is famous for its tourism, medical institutes, different regional and international organization's headquarters, business facilities, shopping, cheaper but quality accommodations etc. huge amount of foreigners everyday come here by air. again many people who want to reach the nearer countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, Brunei, Laos, Japan, South Korea, Australia, etc. many times use this airport as transit point. Maximum things I find here very good. Some times huge security check made me little embarrassed, though I know they do it for my betterment.

Plan accordingly when reaching the airport, the road to the departures wraps around the massive airport and easily adds 15 minutes to your trip. The airport itself is modern with easy check in and immigration for international travel. Be sure to try the food prior to checking in as many local Thai favorites are not offered as you get closer to the gate. Each gate offers a charging station.

I have been to Bangkok almost every year for the last 15 years. Unfortunately last year, I took a public taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport and was charged 700 Baht to Siam Novotel. The usual cost is usually around 400 Baht including toll fee. Although the meter was turned on, it was continuously jumping at a very fast rate. The driver kept touching the bottom of the meter and I knew something was not right. I made a police report but have never received an update or reply. Below is the yellow taxi license number which you should take note of. It was supposed to be a vacation but the entire vacation experience was marred by this incident.

A rather huge airport, but I like the cleanliness. Arrival is no hassle, with fast baggage clearance. Plenty of taxis & other modes outside, but do use metered taxis if you need one.
Toilets are crowded, but generally clean.
Charging points sufficiently available at departure, lucky me.

Very large, clean and organized facility. Stopped at information ask for airline and was provide the information. Check in at airline perfect. Also it was the first airport to allow me to go they handicap customs (cane). Saved 40 minutes there. My 2.5 hours arrival before flight had me waiting 2 hours for my flight.
The air conditioning in the building was also very decent at 06:30 A.M.

It's very nice experience when reach suvarnabhumi airport from Karachi airport.. because it's very huge than Karachi airport...
People and staff were very polite and nice.. there were many flights reached together but just 04 immigration counters were open.. so it was very long wait there to clear all that formalities. But overall that was a fantastic experience to visit. :)

A large airport with all the usual facilities that you would expect from a major international airport. Food options are good, as are the prices, for an airport.

Immigration usually very fast, with the exception of arriving early morning on an A380 and transferring to another Thai airport where it is frustratingly slow in a hot room full of mosquitoes.

Bag handling pretty quick as is customs.

In arrivals there are many areas, to meet - one for hotel transfers, and 2 other for other pre-booked transfers which can be confusing. Handy 7-Eleven there though.

Also many other transport options available. Train, taxi, limousine and bus.

This airport is one of several hub airport in Asia Pacific region. Others include Singapore, South Korea, etc. Easy to stay for a couple of hours.

If you have more than five hours between your transits and you have a valid visa, you are recommended to go beyond the passport control and step into B1 floor of this airport.

More domestic restaurants and facilities are available there.

Marvelous Architecture, well managed parking and pick - drop-off lines.

    Well managed check in.
    Decent lounge.
Decent public lounge with a good view.
Lots of duty free shops with high end brands and anything else.
Good option of food and coffee shops.

A bit difficult to go around because there were not much of horizontal escalator. So might take u a while to walk to the gate.

Nevertheless, everything else were easy and well.

    Pros:
    1. Beautiful airport
    2. Very spacious
    3. Automated checkin through kiosk (You enter your information as asked in the touch screen kiosk and then it prints out a temporary boarding pass which you then take to counters exclusive for kiosk and then they give you your main boarding pass, reduces time of queue)
    4. All kinds of food available
    5. Well organized and maintained
    6. Duty free shops are really alluring
    7. Automated information checking (Departure gate, departure time etc.) just by scanning your boarding pass.

    Cons:
    1. Very big, you might find yourself walking for a long time finding your departure gate

I really liked the wavy design of this airport terminal. The baggage and entry was very efficient and the officer at passport control really welcoming . Very well prepared for foreign arrival with various options for visitors SIM card deals. Very easy to go to the city centre on the sky train for only 45 bath. I can see why is one of the most important gateways to Asia . Well done

It is clean and spacious, the ground staff and immigration clearance was generally efficient. As far as I know the terminal used to be the largest in the world (and was succeeded by Dubai's), so it does take some times to walk to the other sides of the terminal.

You'll find wide range of shops from luxurious brand like Gucci to ordinary eateries like Burger King. The Buddhist statue located right behind custom counters is really nice and worth some photo shots

Was very nice airport. Ive been to many airports across the world and this one is 5 star. All staff we encountered spoke English. Good signage. Was very busy both times we were there however we moved very quickly on/off planes, through security and retrieving baggage. Also very organized transportation outside arrivals terminal. Lots of food and shopping options.
