สันคือบ้านป่าเวียง (แนวคูเมืองโบราณบ้านป่าเวียง) ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ที่บ้านป่าเวียง ม. 11 ต. ทุ่งกว๋าว อ. เมืองปาน จ. ลำปาง สภาพโดยทั่วไปเกิดจากการขุดของชาวบ้านในอดีต ขุดขึ้นรอบๆหมู่บ้านบนพื้นที่บนเนินติดกับแม่น้ำนึงทางทิศเหนือ ซึ่งเวียงโบราณแห่งนี้นักวิชาการยังไม่มีหลักฐานบ่งชี้บอกว่าชื่อเวียงอะไรอายุความเก่าเท่าไหร่ จากคำบอกเล่าของชาวบ้านแบบมุขปาถะเล่าสืบกันมาว่า เวียงแห่งนี้ในอดีตมีความเจริญรุ่งเรืองเมืองหนึ่งมีเจ้าผู้ครองเวียงชื่อ"หาญแจ้"เจ้าเวียงได้นำชาวบ้านช่วยกันขุดคลองรอบๆเนินแห่งนี้ตั้งเป็นเวียงขึ้นเป็นอิสระไม่ขึ้นตรงต่อใคร ต่อมามี"เจ้าพญาคำลือ"แห่งเวียงวิเชตรนคร(แจ้ห่ม)ได้มาบุกโจมตีเพื่อขยายอำนาจ ทั้งสองเวียงได้สู้รบกันนานสามวันสามคืนตรงบริเวณข่วงเวียงทางทิศตะวันออก(ปัจจุบันคือทุ่งนาบ้านทุ่งข่วง)ผลก็คือ"หาญแจ้"รบแพ้เลยหนีเข้าป่าทางทิศตะวันตกของเวียงส่วนสภาพเวียงของตนก็ปล่อยรกร้างมีต้นไม้ขึ้นปกคลุม คนรุ่นหลังจึงเรียกบริเวณนี้ว่า "ป่าเวียง"มาจนถึงปัจจุบัน.
