  If you need to stay in Surat Thani a bit longer than the average traveller then you should consider DB Garden. The Hotel has been built recently (2016), so everything is new inside.
  
  It is conveniently located near the center of the city, 5 minutes drive to the local hospital, and about 7 minutes drive to Central Plaza Mall.
  
  The rooms are modern and spacious, with aircon, ensuite bathroom and fridge. 2 washing machines are available at 30 baht pe rcycle, but 2 laundry shops are nearby as well.
  
  Security is by way of electrnic key card. Off Street Car Parking is available.
  
  Wifi is included and works excellent.
  
  Instant coffee is available downstairs near reception, there is a hot water kettle.
  
  The hosts are very friendly, welcoming and always happy to assist. Their English is a bit limited but good enough to talk about the basics.
  
  At the time of writing (January 2017) the long term rent is 5,000 Baht per month, plus water of about 150 per month plus power which in my case worked out to about 1,000 baht per month because I had the aircon running most of the time.
  
  For long-term-renters a security deposit of 5,000 Baht is required, which will be given back if the room does not require any renovations when you leave.
  
  The room gets cleaned once a month by the hosue cleaner, if you require her more often the cost is 100 baht, very reasonable cost.
  
  I found most tenants were long term renters and quiet, they just go to work and don't party all night which suited me fine. Because this is off the main road it is nice and quiet and you never hear any street noise.
  
  One thing you should be aware of however is that a Polytechnic School is nearby and they have their assembly 5 days a week at 7.30am, so you will get woken up by that.
  
  You will need to bring your own linen and towels.
  
  The Hotel also operates like a ormal overnight stay Hotel, the rate for that is 450 Baht per night and of course linen and towels are provided then, and the usual 2 bottles of water, with the cleaner tidying up the room every day.
