EMK as Emmanuel Khayalethu is called, is an orphanage/child care center, for children from birth to 18yrs old. EMK has been in operation since 2002. It was started by its Director, Mrs Hixonia Nxumalo, with the help of her family. She saw a need for children to be protected from abuse and neglect. EMK therefore caters for children who have been abused, neglected, HIV infected and affected and abandoned children. Over the years EMK has cared for over 1000 children with the help from donors locally and internationally. It has been blessed with a large piece of land where children houses have been built and a school.

EMK is faced with the challenge of running costs which include, feeding the children, providing transportation, ARV's and daily medication, electricity, fencing for the organisation and operational costs for the staff as well.
