Ethiopian cuisine, really authentic atmosphere, food was ok, and it's a bit overpriced.

Great food, ambiance. Cozy if you can get a corner.

Getting a reservation and going there before you are so hungry is recommended as the kitchen will be very busy due to the crowd (Saturday evening at least...). Don't be shy to use your fingers to eat. They have scented wet hand wipes + a bathroom to clean.

Liked St George Amber Beer from Ethiopia a lot.

Such a nice cozy and original place! Not crowded at all, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing with some African music and low candle light in the restaurant. The food is great and it's served in traditional african baskets! We tried the meal which includes smaller dishes of several flavours and a lot of the African injera bread, lamb, beef, lentils... just amazing!

We came in late on a Sunday evening, but we got a table no problem. Excellent and exiting food. Good vegetarian options. Great coffee with popcorn after dinner! And also very friendly staff. The waiter explained the ingredients well and seemed knowledgeable.

We tried the Bejajneto which is a sharing dish for two. Good value for money, and varied food. My partner thought the meat was maybe slightly chewy, but I didn't mind at all.

We had never tried Ethiopian food before and it was fun to eat with our hands (gotta get your hands dirty!) Cutlery is of course available also :)
All in all an excellent experience, well recommended!

This has been my number one binge eating stop in Gothenburg - for several years now. There's a descent amount of main courses to choose from, but the emphasis is on quality over quantity, which is definitely to prefer over the all too common contrary. Portions are generous and the prices are fair.
Would recommend a first time visitor to try any dish that comes with injera!

Love the food, love the staff, love the atmosphere.

I ask myself whether it's fair to review something without a frame of reference? I've only ever dined at an Ethiopian place once before. I didn't particularly like it back then, I'm sorry to say, and I feel the same today. But I'm sure it's not the fault of the chefs in these two places, but my taste buds.
I had the Sega wett, which is a beef stew in red wine with berbere which is a chili based spice mixture. At first I was fooled by the big basket in which all the food was served, but I came hungry and I left the restaurant hungry, because of the small serving, and no one asked me if everything was to my satisfaction.
But the place seemed fully occupied so I guess people come for the food. The service was friendly albeit a bit inconsistent and after we'd finished our deserts it took at least 30 minutes before a waiter came to our table to ask if we wanted anything else or the check, or so we thought.. Someone came.. and picked up an empty beer bottle and then left.. We got sick of waiting and paid at the bar. Others did as well, so I'm assuming you're supposed to, but I'm thinking someone could've informed us of that and saved us 30 mins of being annoyed.
The place is cosy and inviting. I liked that the menu had little tidbits about Ethiopia printed at the bottom of each page. Last but not least; try the banana and coconut pie. It's pretty awesome. I feel bad giving this place only 3 stars. I'm sure it's 4 stars, but the food doesn't appeal to me personally. I pass the torch to someone else to write a more objective review.
