The food is good, all the SouthIndian and other Indian verity. And the service is also fine. And most importantly the price is reasonable.
Very good restaurant.. good taste and service
Best for South Indian food, but parking is an issue
Just one thing i didnt like . Limited time for cafeteria. Should be open 24/7. Over all rating is good
Good taste and good price however there dining place has very less light
Very good place for family dinner who like traditional south indian spicy food... a bit crowded during weekends
One of very few restaurants in Jeddah which serve South Indian breakfast. The prices are very very reasonable and the Ambiance is okay kindish. Timings of the restaurant ends at 12 PM. The taste though not close to what Chennai provides but very good when you live in Jeddah.
The parking is a bit of concern here but that can be neglected as we are talking about breakfast and Saudis generally don't start their day early in the morning. So considering that it won't be rush at all during Friday mornings but I would suggest ppl to go early at around 9 or 10 in the mornings.
Also the quantity is very much for a single person even if it's tea. I got to know that the coffee is very south Indianish but I dint get chance to have it. I would suggest you guys to have coffee over tea as the tea quality is not very good.
Nice south Indian food VALUE FOR MONEY
Reasonable price, good taste and quick service. Only limited south Indian dishes from the menu are available for breakfast.
Clean and neat. Food quality is high and ample variety. Overall value for money.
It's for South Indian food lovers. You will get good variety of dosas and Tiffin items. Meals are decent, prawn fry is good. The food taste will not be authentic but expats especially from South Indians will love the food as there are no much South Indian restaurants in Jeddah.
One of the good quality south Indian restaurant in Jeddah. Serves good breakfast (like any traditional south Indian restaurant) with varieties in lunch n dinner. I like thali and breakfast there.
All the dishes are reasonable price and delicious. Family section is neat and clean. Overall Good.
Not hygienic , dirty tables. Staff just warm the food and serve it they don't cook on demand . Staff is good.
South Indian joint. Food is OK. Cleanliness level needs improvement. Parking is an issue. Public dustbin at the entrance is a serious concern. Management needs to take care to clean the area in front of the restaurant.
Food is good, services isn't very good but would pass. Extremely crowded at the weekends, may have to wait upto 30 mins to get a seat and another 30 mins to be served.
Good place for Indian Food. I like their sweets too. Good place for Dosa lovers.
We had dinner most of the weekends at Chennai Darbar before.. some of food items (South Indian) are very nice..now we have stopped to go there .. issues
1. Parking problem.
2. Only one person is there to take order and we have to wait 10-15 minutes for him.mostly he isn't concerned about customer..After that another 10-15 waiting for the foods.. if we ask extra food it will take another 10-15 minutes
Not comfortable to dine in.
3. Before we have allowed to sit upstairs .. now it's stopped
Only for families.. so we have to wait 10-30 minutes during Rush time.. less family's but more space allotted for them..
Why we have to drive 30 minutes to reach there and wait for 1-1:30 hours
4. So nowadays chennai darbar isn't in our favorite and prime list..
Their food is a hit or miss. Have only select dishes at this place or expect to be disappointed when ordering something new. That said, they do serve some authentic south Indian food. The food served at non-peak times also tends to be cold and not as fresh. The ambience can be improved as the lighting is way too dim. They should also keep partitions for families that would like to dine with some privacy.
I always go there every Friday and Tuesday sometimes with Family and mostly alone. I really do love to enjoy a meal from Chennai Darbar. Thanks a lot
