I walked from Borovitskaya metro station on the grey line 9, skirted the Kremlin along the banks of the Moscow river before ending up at St Basil’s on the edge of Red Square.
It was a truly breathtaking sight to see it in the flesh. Unfortunately I did not have an opportunity to go inside.
A very special place where there are so many fascinating buildings and statues to see.response / report this review -

Absolutely stunning exterior and well preserved interior (and artifacts).
About £10 each to get in - you can get a free COVID test at the GUM across the road which allows you to enter as a foreigner. (Top floor of the GUM - you can't miss it).

It is mainly a church with a very excellent structure. It is more than 200 years old. It a very known tourist spot in moscow. The place is packed with people always. At Christmas they use new decorations at St basil’s cathedral. The red square is really close to it. There are many restaurants near this cathedral. The inside has old arts and paintings.It is near to the most known shopping mall in moscow “gym”.

One of many great cathedrals in Russia. St.Basil's Cathedral is the iconic image of Red Square and rightly so. If you climb the steep stairs to the top of the central tower there is a small Nave. On the day I visited I had the good fortune to see the monks chanting a prayer which everyone stopped to listen to. The chant reverberated round the central dome and sounded magnificent. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍

The Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed (Russian: Собо́р Васи́лия Блаже́нного, tr. Sobór Vasíliya Blazhénnogo), commonly known as Saint Basil's Cathedral, is an Orthodox church in Red Square of Moscow, and is one of the most popular cultural symbols of Russia. The building, now a museum, is officially known as the Cathedral of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat, or Pokrovsky Cathedral. It was built from 1555 to 1561 on orders from Ivan the Terrible and commemorates the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan. It was the city's tallest building until the completion of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in 1600.

Amazing historical famous cathedral. Very interesting and beautiful design inside and outside located in the heart of Moscow and Red Square. It is impossible to visit Moscow and miss St. Basil Cathedral.

World famous landmark of Russia. Cathedral is in the red square and next to the Kremlin palace. marvelous architecture inside and outside.
This cathedral was built almost 500 years ago. As there was a lot of fires, it's been reconstructed several times. So you can see different periods of Russian history and architecture in one cathedral. This place is stand
unique and gorgeous!

We are very pleased we visited this very historic building. There are many displays and the building itself is amazing. Allow over an hour to have a decent look at everything. There are some good views of Red Square from some areas.

The history and architecture is amazing. Try to go there when red square isn't too busy (early, weekdays, during colder months). There's an otherworldly feel to walk through the cathedral and think of the significant history that walked through there as well.

Iconic. Off set from the Kremlin it is a must see. Brilliant colors as it has been kept up-to the point of almost losing track of just how old it really is. This, along with the line and cost to tour it, kept me from giving it a perfect score. But, in Moscow-this is a must see.

Great place for nice photos with the cathedral in the background. Place closes at 5pm. Ticket booth closes much earlier. Was there at 4 and we were about the last ones to be let in. With the setting sun and decreasing tourist numbers visiting at this hour, its much easier to get nice a photo opportunity

Most famous landmark of Russia. Cathedral is in the red square and next to the Kremlin palace. Smaller than I expected but looks amazing. Inside is dark and not as shiny as I expected. But if you have money and time don't miss.

Awesome architecture inside and outside. Much smaller than it looks in the photos but no less amazing. Beautiful view as well. Just a little warning there are no metro stations nearby so be prepared to walk quite a bit to get there (not a problem by me) but its fine as you will see some other great views.
