The oldest museum in the city, it has an incredible collection of anthropology and history of the world.

This is a very interesting museum, if you like oddities and such things. In my opinion, the most interesting and rarest exhibit is on the second floor, and I do not recommend it to people who might be grossed out. It contains the most famous part-human and animal fetuses that have some abnormalities, such as Siamese twins, which are mostly in jars with formaldehyde. They also have various cultural exhibits from countries at that time, such as clothes, tools, and things they made from a variety of countries, such as Africa, China, Korea, and Indonesia. They also have a place on the third floor that shows physicists' and chemists' tools, books, and laboratories, where you can see how they worked. I think anyone visiting St Petersburg should spare a few hours to see it, because it is a truly wonderful collection, but you should arrive some thirty minutes before their opening to get in without a very long while, with only several people in front of you. By the time they opened, over the course of half an hour, the line stretched to the corner of the street. The line probably would take an hour or more to pass, since it is a line to get inside to buy tickets, and it goes slowly. Other than that, I had a really interesting time and would recommend it to anyone visiting.

Great / weird selection of deformed foetuses if that's your thing. Anthropology focused, regional displays otherwise

very interesting exposition. here you'll see the native americans, asian and african people, get familiar with tgeir life slytes, attributes, clothes etc. the Kunstkammer itself represents human preparats, often abnormal fetues, children and animals. if you're sensible to this kind of stuff, you might not enjoy the place. but it's very interesting for those who's interesred in natire and human bodya

Despite the importance of the collection and the display this is an outdated and purely maintained museum. If you visited its equivalents in the west, you won't find anything inspiring here

It was great! I think it's probably one of the best museums in St Petersburg. Lots of interesting cultural exhibits, including the curiosities section which has babies in preserve to explain certain scientific processes. Almost everything has an English text equivalent. Well worth the money.
