Hi! As a very respected Spanish wines salesman & expert, I was very kindly invited several times during years, by Armenian ownership to this original family business. Last time on 12.02.2016 (I will never come again)
Owner Rafael Pavlovich Safaryan, during a casual dinner in his Cigar club (they have good food if you do not care the smoke of the cigars) , opened a bottle of DO Rueda, Verdejo grape 2013 vintage, telling us that was one of the best white wines from Spain (which is not the case at all, it is just a good wine, soils of vineyards are not among the best in the region) I tried to explain him, that the vintage was already a little bit outdated, and should better sell & drink newer vintages 2014 or 2015 to get the best taste and smell. It seems that my honest comments highly upset the owner, no matter was a professional advice to him, in order to help them to sell better Spanish wines to his clients.
Also he tried to teach me, who were the initial founders of the winery, and also he had no full knowledge of the real story.Regarding Spanish wines they sell, they have a wide portfolio, but some wines are just supermarket wines (not high, not top quality) but around % 20-30 more expensive than same wines sold in Auchan, Billa, Krasnoe & beloe, etc.
Employees seems not to know very well all what they sell, so do not always expect highly professional advice on wines. Storing temperatures of the wines is not so well managed (but maybe better than the average in Moscow)
My advice is to buy wines in other places unless you really know the wine you buy, and price is not big deal for your economy. For example, you can go to a small shop just 2 km. away, in which you will get much better prices for a good wine quality, although not a such wide portfolio and "soviet style" shop
Adres: Moscow, ul. Bolshaya Serpukhovskaya, 8/7, str. 2 (just 25 meters from Mc Donald´s near Metro Dobrininskaya)
