I went there at the beginning of October 2017. Wardrobe workers have totally bad manners. I came with my Chinese friends. One of the workers start complaining in a very rude and racist form that my friend forgot an ID in his pocket and asked his jacket back. She told me in Russian: “What?! What do you want! Enough?!” Throwed his jacket called everyone stupid That looked super rude. I can understand Russian, and I do know what does it mean. Excuse us, but we also didn’t know that we need to exchange our ID for audioguide. I was insulted by her rude attitude. Then we had to wait audioguide for 30 minutes, because everyone went to smoke or whatever, they just disappeared. Nobody is willing to help, nobody. Even security has no idea what was going on, he just asked us to wait. AND I’m not talking about 40 minutes we spent outside in cold and rain waiting in a line. ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED BY YOUR SERVICE! P.S.: obviously no one can speak English. No hi, no bye, no thank you. YOU MUST EDUCATE YOUR STAFF TO BE PROFESSIONAL AND POLITE TO US, BECAUSE WE ARE PAYING OUR MONEY TO VISIT YOUR MUSEUM.

Beautiful palace, very stunning. The downside is that it was almost completely destroyed in WW2 and you can really sense that the restoration in some places wasn't very good, just looks obviously fake and amateuristic. The gardens are marvellous though and I do suggest you take out some time for them if the weather is nice.

The palace is in wonderful restored shape and worth the wait. We (1 adult and two 10year olds) were there in July and despite 3h wait enjoyed it very much! We did our homework - came when the park opened at 10am and got in line right away. The ticket office for general public opens at noon. We've got inside shortly after 1pm. What made our 3+h wait bearable: books, snacks, and most importantly - we, people in front and behind us were taking turns to leave the line and explore the park (which is a beauty on its own!).

The opulence in a place like this is never under stated. It really does show the divide between those that have and those that do not have. Well worth a visit and the grounds are lovely to go around and look at. All the fountains are driven by natural means without pumps.

Hi everyone! When you go to Catherine Palace:
1. Buy tickets to enter the Park, once you there if you would like to visit the Palace get in the line to enter.
Attention!!! If you purchased tickets online to the Palace you don't need to stay in the line to buy tickets and enter there is another entrance for you.
2. It takes about two hours to get through the line (August) once you inside you will need to buy tickets to the Palace (have your Park enter tickets with you).
3. You can join the group with TourGuide and audio or you can go just by yourself and take a great photos remember Amber Room no photos or video permitted (don't get lost).
4. After you've enjoyed the Palace you can explore the Park around and visit other places in the complex if you wish (and if you have time)
5. Keep in mind exit from the Park is located faraway from the entrance (study the map first before you are happily heading to the "exit")

The Catherine Palace, former summer residence of the Russian tsars, is a beautiful, clean and elegant building. The surrounding parks are equally stunning and you can find numerous fountains, gates, pavillions, ruins and towers around there. Take at least half a day to fully enjoy this magnificent place.

Very nice palace however the queue system is quite bad if you are not Russian. Still a very nice experience and beautiful gardens around it. Inside the palace is famous for its many rooms. Enjoy

The palace is beautiful but the excursion lasted only for 30 mins. And the staff who lead the group was not passionate at all. I could hardly understand the story behind the palace. And the waiting in line for 2 hours is too much. You can see even more beautiful palaces in Berlin, e.g. Charlottenburg palace or Neue palace with no queues and wonderful audio guides

Absolutely stunning. It is very easy to get there from Saint Petersburg by public buses which cost around 2 dollar. Never took a tour there from Saint Petersburg as tours has time limit while the palace and surrounding is so gorgeous that it can and should take longer than any tour can afford. Russian history and art can be best known by exploring this area.
