We started selling icons by chance, or more precisely, due to a series of successive events. We were in a shop in Greece, in a suburb of Athens. Among many traditional handmade products crafted by Greek artisans, there were a few icons in a corner. Seeing that I was interested, the shop owner invited me into another room that was absolutely filled with icons. That was the first time I saw, all in one place, Orthodox icons, Catholic icons, Murano glass icons, small icons the size of a coin, or large icons over a meter tall, icons carved in wood, icons cast in stone, lithographed icons, diptychs, triptychs, icons with magnets so you could stick them on the fridge, and more.
