The museum had a great collection and had some signs in English which is invaluable for tourists to have some understanding of the different pieces. While the collection was extensive and very old the organization and floor of the museum was lacking. While it did have some loose organization it was more a viewing of prices than any them or sorry being told. The price in communism in constanta and Romania was great and definitely the most well put together section in terms of organization and flow. Overall a great miss and we'll worth a visit to see some very old and interesting pieces of history.
Definitely worths visiting. Great comunist exhibition
Well preserved musium of romanian cultures. Can find ancient greek artifacts.
All the history of the region can be found here, great collection. You will start by going up without a guide, but most is written in English as well. Tip: when you get back down, wait for the guide as you are about to go to your right, because you can learn much more about the history of the objects and believe me they have a lot more than you can see with your eyes.
Fun museum to enjoy. Lot of history of area during ancient times.
Really a must visit. It gives flashes about human journey 7000 years ago till now.
When I went, the group I was with was the only ones in the museum. We had a tour guide who is a Romanian history professor who was extremely knowledgeable about pretty much everything in the museum. She didn't speak English (but I speak Romanian) and I think they have English tour guides if you request a day before. The museum contains a great variety of pieces, from ancient beads and fertility gods to roman era statues and busts, not to mention the statue with the snake with hair. Everything has English translations underneath the Romanian. Anyone who is a history geek will love it here. Not only does it contain a wealth of history, the building itself and the area directly around it is beautiful and full of history.
The museum is housed in a national monument building, former city hall of Constanta before world war 1. It's located in old town, oversees the statue of Ovidiu and the main square.
It has unique pieces of historical artifacts, such as the thinker of Hamangia, Glycon the snake god and the earthly remains of an ancient roman woman, mammoth tusks and various other unique artifacts with strong connections to the history of Dobrudja.
Must see and visit for any tourist. The setting and atmosphere of the museum will surely leave a lasting impression on anyone.
Went for a visit. Very well equipped, a bit unexpected.

It's a nice place where you can see ancient Roman and Greek tools and weapons.
