Description
The lab headed by Sílvia Socorro is one of the groups working at Health Sciences Research Centre-University of Beira Interior (CICS-UBI) and the research lines encompass:
- Disclosing the molecular mechanisms underpinning infertility and carcinogenesis associated with metabolic and hormonal disorders;
- Identifying the essential targets modulating composition of male reproductive fluids and sperm functionality;
- Studying genomic variations affecting onset, progression and treatment of endocrine and hormone-dependent cancers;
- Developing innovative biomarkers and therapeutic options for management and treatment of hormone-dependent cancers and infertility disorders.
