Best food in whole Funchal. I went 3 times during my stay 😍
We had a lovely time last week at Olives with a fully vegan 3 course meal. Very friendly/ knowledgeable staff and excellent food. Hopefully next time there will be even more vegan options. Recommend!
One of best meal I've eaten in long time great service great views
Great food, fantastic service and a lovely rooftop setting we had a wonderful time, lots of veggie options for my girlfriend, best place we've eaten in Madiera, try the chocolate moelleux!
Loved it, a lovely restaurant that is different to others in funchal. Beautifully cooked & presented food. Well worth a visit
We had both some of the vegan dishes and some of the meat dishes. Both were great.
The location is a little odd, right above a very trafficated road. It's on the 3rd floor, which also makes it windy and a bit chilly to sit on the terrace.
However food was good enough to pull it up to 5 stars overall.
Visited twice in a week as it has exquisite food with a good menu for vegetarians and fish meat eaters. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Local produce and good wine.
Stuff was really friendly and careful, the vegetarian menu is great and the food was tasty!
Best supper of 5 in Funchal so far. Interesting food was well presented, tasty & reasonably priced. (€58 for two 3 course meals, sharing dessert & bottle of wine). As is common in the city, no mention on menu of produce being local or sustainable (tofu was organic though). Fish options were unsustainable according to a quick search in the Good Fish Guide.
Best. Food. In Madeira! Don't be fooled by the exterior; the service is outstanding, the staff and the chef treat you like you're an old, dear friend, and treating your taste buds to such culinary excellency is legitimately an emotional experience. Try the duck!
Both vegan and non vegan items are tasty. My wife and I had two vegan appetizers, the pumpkin soup was wonderful. I had the steak and potatoes for dinner that came with a delicious sauce that wasn't needed because the food was already so good. My wife's entree was a sort of soup in a bread bowl and while I thought it was ok, she loved it. They made fresh apple crisp (took 20+ minutes) for her as a vegan dessert while I had the passion fruit cheesecake. Her apple crisp and sorbet were great and while the cheesecake was tasty it's consistency was off from what I expect in cheesecake by being less firm and dense. They have a selection of wines but offered cocktails and beer when I asked about other options. The beer is the same Coral lager you see all over town. A completely average beer.
Eating here isn't cheap but it's an appropriate price for the quality and quantity of food.
If you are a vegetarian visiting Funchal look no further. I didn't discover this gem of a restaurant until our last night which is a shame as I would have been a regular visitor during our holiday.
As well as inventive vegetarian choices there are also meat and fish dishes so the carnivores amongst you will not be disappointed.
The presentation of the meal shows the care and attention which has been put into the whole experience.
