Not really that good. Over rated, service like a huge group no personal touch.
Acceptable Portuguese fare....if you know what to order....house wine...by the liter "jarro" is the best buy....would go again...I think it beats a lot of tourist stops on the main drag
Was informed by waiting staff that they couldn't serve clams and prawns because it wasn't the "right time of day"!
Ate there in July at approximately the same time - clams and prawns were served!!
Very disappointed. However, main course was very good, as always (fries could have done with a few more minutes in the fryer though :( )
Not my best experience at the Adega
Great food and atmosphere . Communal benches not for everyone but when in Rome .... Steak was delicious . Very popular with locals . First place I'll go if I return .
Traditional food. One of the best in Lagos. The bad thing is the time until you get your food. If you are in a hurry, don't try. It's the perfect place for a family dinner. Always full. A place to recommend.
Lovely traditional Portuguese food and drinks. Great entertainment too. Would definitely recommend to travels looking for a more authentic dining experience.
This place is hugely popular, especially with locals. It also came recommended. It has a great atmosphere, but for me the food was very average. Nothing wrong, but nothing memorable. If you want a reasonably priced lunch then it's fine. We had Swordfish, Pork fillets and salad. All fine, but not anywhere near as good as we were led to believe. Staff friendly and helpful.
Great food, friendly staff. You need to Q up for table. I back to eat here again in the last of my trip. Simple but really good. I am there on the restaurant 24th birthday and live music and free cake and champagne.
Great wholesome food for a good price. Value for money with full seafood range. Full of older locals who know the score.
Crazy busy place and equally popular with the tourist crowd as well as the locals. Grilled sardines for the win with the service being lukewarm at most.
If you stay in Lagos on holiday or you are a resident anywhere near Lagos, you will surely go to the Adega! Everyone does! Summertime is queueing time and unless you get there before 7 you will have to wait. Reasonably cheap food, great chicken and fish and salads and chips with olives, great bread and butters and sardine paste. That's what you will eat! They do great prawns and clams too! They also have a keyboard player for some background music! Its always busy and you always see someone you know! The staff are quick on their feet and some have been working there a long time so you recognise them year after year! Its a good place to sit and have a nice meal before a great night out!
Tourist haven but the food and service did not let us down. Grilled baby squid was very nice and the swordfish steak was delicious plus it was a very generous portion. Go here for a safe bet during your stay, but expect to be sat next to some fellow English speakers.
It's seemed like the local and tourist hang-out. Feels like a big beer hall. It's one of the few spots that is consistently open until 12am. Simple menu with fresh fish. We ordered the sea bass and it was delicious. Came simply prepared with boiled potatoes; we also ordered a large mixed green salad and it was a nice, fairly healthy little meal. The cutest older gentleman was playing soft rock hits on the keyboard until close. Don't come expecting a fancy, gourmet meal. Small town charm and decent food open late.
