  Go up the historical lift and you would walk through the metal corridor to this beautiful restaurant. Good food, good ambiance, good staff and excellent viewpoint.

  The Bellalisa Elevador is located on top of the Santa Justa Elevator and has an absolutely fantastic view over Rossio, Sé Cathedral, Carmo Convent, São Jorge Castle, and the Tagus River.
  
  For starters my wife and I ordered the goats' cheese, honey and walnuts bruschetta and the baked prawns. The bruschetta came with too much sweet sauce (not honey) which overwhelmed the taste of the goats cheese and the prawns were over-cooked rendering them tough.
  
  For our main course we decided on the chateaubriand for two people with 3 different sauces – Dijon mustard cream , Barolo wine, gorgonzola cheese and also came with French fries, asparagus and a parmesan risotto.
  
  Sounds great however the French fries were cold and had to be sent back. It would normal to let the beef rest at room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking but in this case it would appear that the meat was taken from the fridge and popped on a skillet immediately so when it was carved it had not cooked through and was cold in the middle. It had to be sent back in slices to finish off, so now rather than medium rare it was well done, not that we were asked how we would like our meat prepared in the first place.
  
  The asparagus and a parmesan risotto was a nice accompaniment to the meal however the sauces were poor. For some reason, unknown to me, a garnish of cucumber and hot chili pepper were also served with the chateaubriand. It wasn’t mentioned on the menu and the taste combinations did not work.
  
  While contemplating whether to have desert and coffees the management decided to start moving furniture around, when asked why they were doing this as we had not finished our meal they answered that they were rearranging the seating plan for tomorrow. They continued to do so despite our reply that the evening had not finished and that tomorrow could be dealt with when all the night’s service had finished.
  
  So now feeling that we were no longer welcome in the restaurant and that the management were attempting to get us to leave through their actions rather than their words we decided not to have desert and coffees and asked for the bill.
  
  Despite having voiced our concerns throughout the service there was no reduction in the tab nor was there any apology forthcoming from the management of the establishment.
  
  As I said a wonderful location , friendly serving staff, however our anticipated meal neither lived up to the menu descriptions or expectations, hence 2 stars out of 5.”
