In a time after Maria..with NO POWER for A WHILE, and sleeping a week in another hotel (NO POWER EITHER) that the window opened less than 2 inches...La Playita was a saviour!!! Light, A/C, and a small fridge. Right next to the ocean and a nice beach walk. Very attentive to whatever you need. And they serve food with ocean view dining.

We had a lovely one-night getaway at this hotel last summer. I am so sad to know what Hurrican Maria has done to it. The hotel was charming, the room was comfortable, the beach was close, and dinner at the restaurant was amazing. We still talk about the fried calamari with spicy guava sauce. Yum! And the Coco Loco drink was so good my Puerto Rican boyfriend didn't even mind looking "touristy" drinking out of a large coconut shell. If the owners ever decide to open another hotel and/or restaurant, we will be there.

It doesn’t matter how nice a hotel is if the hospitality is decrepit. We were planning on staying in La Playita as our last night of our honeymoon in Puerto Rico, and were really excited about it because this hotel is right on the beach and we could thus sneak in an extra beach day. Unfortunately, hurricane Maria was threatening Puerto Rico in the days leading up, and so we had to make a few plans depending on if we could get a flight out in time. Coordinating with this hotel was an absolute nightmare. If you don’t speak Spanish, don’t bother. Even after 9 years of learning Spanish in high school and university and practicing medicine in a Spanish community, my husband and I dreaded calling them because they weren’t willing to speak slower over the phone. Compound that with the fact that they didn’t pick up the phone half the time we called them, this hotel gave us an incredible amount of stress when planning for the hurricane. In the end, we did get a flight out before the hurricane (thankfully), and so when we requested to cancel our reservation, they insisted on maintaining their cancellation fee even when a cat-5 hurricane was the reason… which is absurd. Every other hotel we had to cancel due to hurricane Irma waived their cancellation fees, and Irma didn’t even make a direct hit! Overall, this hotel might be beautiful, but our experience was a nightmare and we must caution others against booking with them.

The view at the bar is to die for... if the delicious Coco Loco's don't get you first!

I can heartily recommend just for the beach location.

Oh gosh how to began!!!! Stayed in this hotel last mont for 13 days! The rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. The food is delicious!!!! The hotel is located closed to the beach that you can get out of your room and the soon you get out of the hotel the beach is right there. There was this new receptionist Miss. Marian she was so helpful and very respectful young lady she gave me and my partner the best customer service. Every time I entered that office to ask for suggestions or recommendations she received me with a smile and was very helpful . Also the cleaning ladies and gentleman were very attentive to our needs on a daily basis. I can't finish without mentioning this gentleman they called him Julito the Show I mean this guys was there every day to make sure we had a parking space very attentive and helpful, will offered to help with anything always with a smile. To conclude I would definitely stay in this hotel again on my next visit! I loved and enjoy my stay in this location!

Quaint little place, tucked at the end of Calle Amapola. Clean, spacious room.. property could use a little TLC, but overall can't complain. Note: the oceanfront king bed room.. while yes it's oceanfront and you get a nice view of the ocean, you also get the roof of the restaurant below it. Restaurant: oceanside. Food is good, some items on menu a bit overpriced. Staff is friendly. Beach is steps away. Only stayed for 2 nights. Served its purpose.

Quiet hotel restaurant with a great view of the ocean. The fish tacos are very good and the price for beer seems reasonable. Like many places around here, it is always happy hour.
