BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL


One of the important legacies left by the American Regime was providing education to the Filipinos. Volunteer American teachers were deployed in the whole archipelago, teaching children and training would be Filipino teacher.
In 1910, a school was established in their municipality through the initiative of Mayor Pablo Sulangi . It was made of bamboo and nipa with stairs of two steps from the ground. There were 3R’s subject taught composed of Reading, Writing and Arithmetic with Good Manners and Right Conduct. Since it was the in the period of inception, there were only few children enrolled, each grade has only 7 to 12 pupils and each teacher teach combination classes. There were programs and activities like Garden Day, Exhibits of Home Economics Projects, Sewing Contest and Cooking Contest. The teachers were Miss Leonora Balbueno, Miss SimeonaCasiano, Miss Cristina Albarda, Miss PetronillaEsposo and Maria Junio.
In this lot where Morong Elementary School founded in the corner of Zamora, now stand different buildings, composed of government type school building and private donation. Rising above them is the two-story Pinatubo Building composed of II room.
The total enrolment in this school year 2013-2014 is 1,371 and there are 39 teachers. There are seven sections in Grade I, six sections in Grade II, six sections in Grade III, five sections in Grade IV, five sections in Grade V and five sections in Grade VI. There are 34 classrooms in all except the other school facilities such as the office, storeroom, school canteen, science room and toilets for boys and girls.
