Great stay, superb view. Wifi is slow. Food is great. Parking can be a hassle when you're in the inner section with 2 double parked cars. Service is as always wow. Bed and amenities were clean and toiletries were provided.
Romantic getaway yet close to great restaurants. Great views!
Their website photos don't do the rooms justice. They are really charming and well appointed. Wifi wasn't great, but it was good to disconnect. Had a garden room, it was really nice to have breakfast overlooking the lake on our own terrace. Can hear other guests and employees pretty easily though.
I opted for a Garden Terrace room when I stayed over night here. The room is really nicely done. I loved the rustic ambiance and decor. Outside my door was a nice table for two and a charming little garden space with what was no doubt a wonderful view of Taal Lake and the volcano. But the weather was not cooperative during my stay and I had to admire the beautiful cloud formations instead.
You can see your neighbours' room if you walk out to the fence, so the garden terrace rooms are not completely private if you don't pull your drapes closed.
The bed was as comfortable as it was beautiful, with luxurious linens and pillows. The staff here are courteous and professional.
My only complaint is that I did not have hot water. I took a shower after I checked in, and even after letting the water run for about 15 minutes it still did not get warm. I didn't want to call the staff because I was in a hurry to go out and find some dinner and didn't want to wait for them to fix the problem. In the morning, I tried the water and it did get hot. So I figured it was fine. I waited for my breakfast to arrive and took a shower after breakfast. For whatever reason, the water did not heat up again and I had another cold shower. Again, I didn't want to call them because I was in a hurry to get back on the road and get home. This is not something that should happen to any guest and can be easily prevented through regular room inspections.
My breakfast was good. The tocino was a little over cooked for my liking but still, everything tasted good. I enjoyed it outside on my terrace with some warm sunshine breaking through the clouds. The local cats came to visit, but they looked well fed so I didn't feel bad about not sharing with them.
I would like to come back with my sweetie as this is the kind of place you should have some companionship in. It is romantic and beautiful. Hopefully they have the hot water situation fixed by the time I return. Be advised, the garden terrace room is not a room to choose if you can't do stairs.
Great views, really awesome staff that make sure you are taken care of. Quite and cozy place.
Joaquin's Bed and Breakfast is very cozy, and quiet. The room we got had a private garden, and great view of Taal lake. The staff was very accommodating and friendly :)
Great location on the ridge. Not too far from the Aguinaldo rotunda, close to restaurants like Balay Dako. It's just a few minutes away by car from Nurture Spa & right beside Qi Wellness spa. So it makes a great base for a spa weekend.
The reception may not seem impressive, but the rooms aim to charm. I imagine the interior decorator or owner fancy themselves innkeeps, so it really goes hard into the quaint, country inn look. There are even Alexander McCall-Smith books.
Booking here is well worth it though as you get that rarest thing in Tagaytay - a quiet, private, view Taal lake & volcano. Our friend booked a Garden room so we got a breakfast table, a mini, garden, some cat visits, and yes, a great quiet view.
Spent here overnight after an out of town task. The place is quaint, rustic and comfy. Clean and in a peaceful and private setting. Whether as family place or a romantic tryst, this place is highly recommended especially with a very affordable price that includes heathy breakfast.
Unique /elegant /clean
We were here for a quick break with my wife and we enjoyed the place. Couples can choose pillows, soap, perfume and breakfast. It feels customized to your liking. They gave us a voucher for our next visit that should be in 3 months. Thou that the rooms for me is a bit limited in number. But the rooms are big and bed king size, well themed also. If you want a bit exciting place to stay book here now.
Rooms are spacious and smell really nice. Interior is very artsy!
The food is okay..but yhe view is remarkable
Nice to wake up seeing your very own garden with a view of the volcano. Pandan juice is unlimited. The hotel price is a bit steep though and parking is limited.
Each room has a beautiful view of the lake. Also when having breakfast you can enjoy the clean open air and amazing vista or Lake Taal.
