οΏ½ 1998 - The Deaf ministry was started in San Roque Parish Pateros Metro Manila by Mrs. Rackie Orena-Imon, Ms.Girlie Reyes and Ms. Tess Tiamsic. They worked out the opening of the interpreted mass in the parish. Every Sunday, the deaf had their meetings and free meals after the meetings.
οΏ½ 2000 - When Ms. Tess Buenaventura and Erick Sanchez, both volunteers from ICC met the deaf and the hearing volunteers, they asked that the ministry be moved to ICC since there were many deaf in the outskirts of ICC. When it was transferred, it was named as talking hands. At that time, other hearing volunteers joined the group- Ms. Donna, Ms. Bambie Mayoralgo, Ms. Noemi Lacambacal and Mommy Thelma Juadinez. the training of deaf leaders also began and they were βMs. Roselie, Ms. Malou Quilang, Ms. Gay Hassan, and Mr. Jonathan San Juan. it was a journey that bore fruits and met challenges...
οΏ½ 2000 to 2013 - ICCβDeaf community had varied weekly activities like arts and crafts, literacy, catechism, sports and camps, bazaars, field trip, sign language training, seminars, values education and other activities conducted and done with deaf and hearing volunteers. More busy year in our community. 2014 - SSDM formally embraced our community to be part of its family. 2015 - The journey continues with the new set of leaders. Thus the reason for this celebration!
