THE GROUP
Grupo Capoeira Uniao started in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1985, and has branches in different parts of the globe these days such as in Mexico, Argentina, America, and etc.

In 2016, the group co-founded its first ever branch in Asia together with Capoeira Cebu (Elemento De Capoeira, started 2003), the longest running capoeira community in the island of Cebu, dubbed as Uniao-Pilipinas, under the supervision of Mestre Calango

Currently, Capoeira Uniao-Pilipinas has different community-base branches (Pajara, Abelhana, and etc.) and university-base (UCapoeiristas, and etc.) branch under its head quarter, Flow Genesis.

CAPOEIRA
A unique martial arts originated in Africa, Formalized in Brazil, and Evolved across the globe this days. It brings together beauty, power, mental balance, physical conditioning, self-defence, music and a profound sense of art, all at once. More than a martial art, Capoeira is also a social event filled with tradition and history. Some say Capoeira was created by African slaves, in Brazil, approximately 400 years ago as a martial art. Others believe it is simply a crossing of many West African cultures during the slave trade, galvanising into a single cultural manifestation.
