The High School Flaming Doves Girls Volleyball Team (GVT) made a clean sweep of their games as the League of Southern Manila Schools (LSMS) continue, September 1, 2018 at Brent International School-Manila.
...Powerhouse teams Brent International School-Manila and Lakewood School of Alabang Inc., were unable to match the Doves' attacks and defenses. The Flaming Doves GVT now have a 2-2 win-loss slate.
The Biñan based team lost over the girls with scores of 25-14, 25-17, 16-25, 25-21. The Lions seemed to be unfocused at first with numerous serves missed but was able to recover on the third set. Ischy Guzman, Veron Adriano and Louize Bacsal led the Tayuman team in the fourth set.
During the second match, the girls dominated the Lakewood School of Alabang Inc. in straight sets 25-19, 25-20, 25-21. Series of tied points occurred but the Flaming Doves was able to retrieve points with fast-paced attacks and heavy services.
The girls played and won even without key players Monique Dela Cruz and Ianne Jacinto.
In the boys’ division, the Flaming Doves Boys Volleyball Team (BVT) suffered consecutive losses against San Francisco De Sales School of San Pablo Laguna with straight sets 15-25, 17-25, 15-25 and Meridian Educational Institute 9-25, 14-25, 8-25, bringing their win-loss slate to 0-4.
The BVT experienced problems with San Francisco De Sales School of San Pablo Laguna’s quick spikes and plays.
Right after the first match, the boys immediately had to proceed to the next venue and play against Meridian Educational Institute’s Titans. The boys severely experienced difficulties given the Titans' heavy and fast-paced defense.
It was a big loss for the boys especially that senior players Kian Villareal, Fritz Eslabon, and Irvin Clemente were unable to attend the games.
The Flaming Doves BVT will see action anew on September 8.
