DepEd - Tagbina I District provides quality and equitable education services in all levels of basic education in Kindergarten, Elementary and Secondary Courses. The District Office is located in the heart of the municipality and within the premises of Tagbina Central Elementary School – Poblacion, Tagbina, Surigao del Sur 8308. DepEd - Tagbina I District has twenty-four (24) Elementary Schools including one (1) Central Elementary School - a Level I Accredited Philippine Public Elementary School [ APPES ]. It has seven (7) Integrated Schools . The District is further subdivided into Five (5) Clusters. Tagbina Central Elementary School has the biggest number in terms of teachers and learners followed by Quezon Integrated School, Tagongon Elementary School, Malixi Integrated School and Maglambing Integrated School while Sta. Fe Elementary School has smallest number in terms of teachers and learners followed by Mabuhay Elementary School, Tuburan Elementary School, 3-k Elementary School and San Isidro Elementary School. In terms of distance from the district office, 3-k Elementary School is considered as the farthest for about nineteen (19) kilometers. This is followed by Quary-1 Integrated School with a distance of sixteen (16) kilometers and Quary-2 Soriano Elementary School with a distance of twelve (12) kilometers from the district office respectively. There are seven (7) sitio schools in the district wherein Quary-1 Integrated School is considered as the biggest in terms enrollment. Baranagay Villaverde has the most number of sitio schools consisting of two (2) schools.
Now, all the Elementary and Integrated Schools in both Schools District, no matter how big or small, far or near, sitio or barangay, primary or integrated are working together in providing quality and equitable basic education services to local community and ready to extend their full support in whatsoever plans, programs and projects of the Local Government Unit in this Municipality of Tagbina such as the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4P’s. Moreover, the teachers and school heads are really the front liners in providing the basic services to the parents and pupils / students beneficiaries like conducting advocacy and orientation, keeping the records, monitoring the enrolment or attendances, and verifying their status in order to ensure that they are still enrolled in the school and have complied with the conditions set forth in this program.
For a more vivid look on the schools districts of Tagbina, Table 14 shows the number of enrollees, student-teacher and student-classroom ratios per school in elementary level. In Tagbina I District, there are twenty-one (21) elementary schools which have teacher-leaner ratio of less than 1:45 and twenty-three (23) schools having a classroom-learner ratio of less than 1:45. However, there are three (3) elementary schools that really need teachers and one (1) elementary school that also need school building based on the DepEd Standard Ration on Teacher-Learner and Classroom-Learner which is 1:45. In the entire Tagbina I District, the teacher-leaner ratio is 1:22 and classroom-learner ratio is 1:24.
