Dangwa Tranco used to be [still is?] the transportation backbone of the Cordilleras...there was no spot of the roadway network that you could not get close to from Manila up into the mountains of Luzon. Sadly the Standardization Law that phased out old buses also ended the reign of their grey, yellow and red painted International Harvester "school type" buses. Perhaps you can still see the roofs of these buses "parked" as waiting sheds with sacks of cabbages on top along the blue highways and byways of the CAR. The old story of Mr. Bado Dangwa was the Henry Ford story for the Kankaney when he walked out of the Kapangan mountains in the 20's to buy his first bus.
