Description

BRIEF HISTORY OF CSA

It was envisioned by the late Manong Amon Durano that there will be a school in Danao City which could offer quality education to the Danawanons. A joined effort of the former Congressman and Secretary of Tourism Joseph “Ace” Durano, Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano and Congressman “Red” Durano along with the support and hardwork of Carmen and Carmel L. Durano has paved way to the realization of Manong Amon’s dream for the people of Danao City.

The first courses offered by Colegio de San Antonio de Padua were the College of Nursing, College of Education, and Midwifery which were first established in 2004. The founding Dean of the College of Nursing, the College of Education and at the same time the Principal of Midwifery is Dr. Herminia O. Fernandez. She also coordinated with the offering of Bachelor of Science in Criminology in the following year.

The College was granted Government Recognition for Bachelor of Science in Nursing by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in November 2007. This program was opened in order to provide accessible and quality nursing education to the people of Danao City and the neighboring municipality of the 5th district of Cebu.

By the year 2006, Dr. Alberto A. Jumao-as Jr. assumed the position of being the Dean of the College of Education and was promoted Vice President for Academic Affairs in 2012. Thus, new programs were opened, under the College of Business & Information Technology Education (B.I.T.E.) such as the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration, Bachelor of Science in Travel Management, Bachelor of Science in Information System; and the TESDA programs.
