Description

The United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) is an "organic union" of five protestant denominations. The traditions of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ USA), the Presbyterians, the Evangelical United Brethren, the Philippine Methodists, and the Congregational Church all contribute to its unique identity. With this union the UCCP brought together the hierarchical and episcopal organization/governance of the Methodist and United Brethren, the presbyterial and collegial polity of the Presbyterian, and the polity of local church autonomy of the Congregationalist and the Disciples.

Officially formed on May 25, 1948, the UCCP is now on its 64st year and its 9th Quadrennium (2010-2014) with its theme: "Discerning and Obeying God's Will in this Time of Crisis"
