Good place to rest but the buffet is not as good as i expected, better to go radisson blue with the same price and get better service better food better view

Good rooms... As read about it in many reviews... Cleanest hotels I have seen in sohar and muscat... The guy at the reception was courteous but not as expected... Very nice and we'll maintained property... But the issue was with the shower, it kept on having a splits of chilled water in between the hot water bath.... And it was a heavy one for sure...

Best hotel I ever seen , the only cons is the mini bar is switched off, you have to take it out to find the switch and turn it on

Great place to be. Wednesday great seafood grill. On Thursdays they have beef BBQ with ladies night and a Dj. Friday's super great brunch and Saturdays some family all day breakfast. Spend time at the pool with a few ice cold draft beers and great pool food. Staff is very nice. Rooms ultra modern and all you need and more.

Stayed here with my wife, for 2 nights in March. We had the choice of many hotels, and so glad we chose this one. All the staff where most welcoming, and the hotel itself was most enjoyable.

Latest Hotel in Sohar, fresh interiors, courteous staff, parking for guests, swimming pool, elegant looks, 4-5 categories of rooms depending on garden/pool facing etc.. competitively priced, pool side shower, enclosed sitting areas in case of high humidity on pool side, meeting rooms, business centre., approach from batinah highway on service road while driving from Sohar towards Muscat, just after Lulu / centre point, ........downside : only one restaurant with fixed menu, cabs not available hence you may have to walk down few kilometers to get a cab ..........Highly recommended

I think this is a nice hotel overall. It’s modern and clean, and the location is very good. I have to admit though that the service is very bad 🙃

I am enjoying my stay at Mercure.
Great and relaxing rooms, very friendly team members especially Dexter and Nuzha from F&B.
Last week I had an issue with the wifi but it seems they have solved it now.

The hotel is modern and nice with a Sinbad tale theme. It is in a convenient location if you have a car. The only problem was the service from the breakfast and outside restaurant staff. They need some training for busy periods with many people.

Mercure Hotel has the worst and rudest customer service that we have experienced in our life.
Today, we were about to swim in the hotel's pool because yesterday we arrived late and the pool was about to close in an hour.
The reception manager committed yesterday (02 August 2017) that my 3 children will be free of charge if we'll be back today, but to our surprise when we came the reception manager who is on duty today does not want to honour the commitment made by the previous manager, reasoning out that each manager has different promotions to offer, to the extent of arguing and wasting 30 minutes of our time telling us that the hotel offers a different promotion every time the reception manager changes and he has no responsibility to whatever promises the other managers make.
Mercure hotel is just new here in Sohar, and I firmly believe it has to work closely on its marketing strategies, at the same time orient its reception personnel including the local manager on how to deal with clients properly and with respect.

Disney and History channels disappeared after a movie channel became available. Wifi connection very poor and unstable. Still here as new hotel always deserve a 2nd chance
