I simply loved this museum! Make sure you take minimum 2 hours to explore everything. I wish I had extra time to enjoy a cup of tea at their nicely decorated café. Well, next time! You'll learn a lot about the history of the traditional clothing, see some local art (paintings)+ photos of old Oman. You'll also see how a traditional house looks like. The place is not too crowded. You can pay both cash and card.
Very neatly maintained private museum with a detailed display of Omani costumes, coins, stamps, manuscripts dating back to the 7th century.
The second must see museum in Muscat after the National Museum. What it loses in diversity and quality it makes up for in information. The explanations and displays showing tribal Bedouin life are exceptional.
Perfect location to learn about Oman traditions and culture. Many halls within the meseum showcasing different aspects. One of the halls is a real time traditional Omani house fully furnished as it was in the past.
Receptionist gave us discounted tickets because we reached at 4:30 and place closes at 5:30 😅
When you are strapped for time and still want to get the essence of the whole Sultanate of Oman, this highly curated Bait Al Zubair museum offers you just the right avenue to experience it all.
There is so much to see and soak in, so make some good amount of time and you are sure to be transported like in a time machine and you will most certainly leave with a glowing smile on your face. 5 ***** stars...!
It was a wonderful experience visiting the place. I spent a couple of hours here looking at the artifacts on display and reading about them. It was a great insight to the Omani hostory, culture and heritage. And at 2.5 OMR head it's totally worth the money. I don't have any pictures from inside the museum as photography is not allowed here. It'svisit for anyone who visits Muscat.
The museum has a very large collection of antiques. They were preserved in a very nice way. It is really worth visiting at least once. The collection is so much that you need at least a days time to visit all sections.
Just loved the display of antique and heritage. The culture of Oman depicts in the display of the oldest ornaments, weapons. Nice collection. The effort in bringing the heritage under one roof has been done meticulously.
Nice place to visit as I spent a weekend in Oman. Has the historic features and is close by to the souk and other touristy parts of muscat. Very close to the water too. The national museum and the palace is only a short walk away too do you can enjoy a good few hours at this location. Very clean and beautiful. Definitely worth a cost when you spend the weekend in the city or country. Very cheap to get in too.
Outstanding museum! Comprises of sections in separate houses . In the model of the old Omani house, there is a small cafe bar where you can order refreshments. You will be served by my friendly Pilipino compatriots. I haven't been to the National Museum but I think Bait Al Zubair is already complete for an Omani museum experience.
If you are a history lover (or not :P), then this is one of the must visit places to learn everything about the History of Oman. It has very very interesting information and stunning artifacts on display. The entry fee is 2 riyals per person and no photography is allowed inside the museum or food. One can approximately spend an hour or two at this place also enjoying the extra social and cultural activities that is organised here and the staff here are very very friendly.
Very fine collection of art facts, traditions and culture of Oman. A must visit place with friends and family. We can also see here the traditional houses of Oman with date palms tree roofing, models of the Falaz system, water well,Traditional wooden boats called Dow,models of Omai Orex. Inside there is a nice collection of jewellery, ornaments and traditional dress from different regions of Oman.
Bait Al Zubair Museum, Muscat is a trove of history which is one should not miss to visit. Walking through the museum will take us to the rich history of Oman. No food is allowed inside the museum and the entry is restricted by ticket that you have to buy from the counter.
I had a very nice experience visting this museum. Enjoyed a lot. Entry fees Riyals 2 per adult. Photography not allowed inside the museum
The best cultural museum in muscat. They are organizing musical, cultural and social activities.
In addition, visitors can see Omani culture through one hour trip around the halls.
Nice museum with few outside expositions also. Inside you can learn about Omani dresses, arms, houses... There is coins and stamps exhibition also. It has gift shop and coffee shop too. Good experience but it's prohibited to take a photo inside which is a bit pity.
Bait al dalaleel has really good tomato eggs بيض طماط and the rooms that showcase the old traditional interior is a good addition
A must visit for all visitors to Muscat. Great museums, at an "approachable" size, and a really nice coffee shop and snacks for lunch in the old Omani houses. Have a look at the wide range of Omani souvenirs in the gift shop. Do not visit Muscat without going here.
No meusem can explain culture better than this one love it ...

A great place to learn about the history of Oman
No other meusem can explain culture than this one love it ...
Historical statues are available! Skeletons of animals like dolphins, a small model of the whole country Oman , a small waterfall etc
Good place!
Tiny museum. We learn Muslim women wore colour dresses few years ago . It was beautiful, hope it will come back one day.
Great museum- beautiful. Nice coffee shop here.
A fairly poor museum and heavily refurbished historical house, if u really look for history you should cross the sea and go to Iran or go down to Yemen
I'm not a massive museum person, but I really enjoyed learning more about Oman here. Not too much writing on the exhibitions which makes everything digestible but still very informative. Definitely recommended.
Highly recommended place to visit whether you're a local or a tourist. A museum showcasing many photos, artifacts stories and handicrafts in a beautiful setting. The museum is within an actual old house that has been renovated but still maintains a section where you get a glimpse of what the house and rooms were actually like back when it was inhabited.
