Description

Welcome to WoolnThings – online!

We are a husband and wife team – Paul and Christine McClusky. After 28 years of living in Paul’s native Scotland, we have returned to Hawke’s Bay to take over “the wool shop” in Onekawa, Napier, following the retirement of Sue (Christine’s mum). The shop has now been successfully trading in Napier for over 25 years.

Christine has been knitting (with a bit of crochet) since she was young. She is delighted to share her experience, expertise, and passion with the customers, while continuing to explore new trends and techniques.

The shop is a treasure trove for crafters, and has one of the largest wool selections in the region. As you would expect NZ products feature strongly within our range, which includes a selection of merino, fine merino and possum yarns. In addition, we have yarns from Debbie Bliss in the UK, and fine merino yarns from Italy.

We stock a range of knitting needles, crochet hooks and knitting accessories. Our pattern range is vast – so, please feel free to come on in, sit, and have a look through at your leisure

Our colleague, Liz, is a keen patch worker – and is ready to share her expertise in this field. Actually, she has experience in a wide range of crafts – just ask! The shop stocks a small selection of patchwork and homespun fabrics. We have a nice collection of “kiwiana” fabric.

We are an agent for Brother sewing machines. Check out their website (www.brother.co.nz) for the latest models available, and then pop in to have a chat with us. We also offer servicing on most makes of sewing machine. Of course, no sewing shop is complete without a wide range of haberdashery – zips, buttons, hooks and eyes, elastic, ribbon, cottons – the list is endless!
