I was here for lunch, had a crumbled sole fillet, it was excellent. It's a good seafood restaurant, a nice string and the staff are friendly. Well worth a visit

Myself and my wife had probably our worst dining experience ever!
I ordered the seafood bowl.. basically tasteless bowl with some shellfish. tasted like it was just all steamed!! My wife ordered fish of the day which happened to be sole . it turned out to be two tiny pieces of sole less than tablespoon in size on half a plate of mashed potatoes and half a plate of salad for $32 absolute rip off. Never again

Disappointed with the lunch. My wife and I used to go every week for the $10 meal, it was amazing. Accept that inflation happens so had no concern that the same menu is now $15, But the food quality has gone downhill. Meals are now smaller, with more bulk (chips) and far less good stuff (e.g., order calamari, get half the calamri you used to). Wont go vack again. On the upside, the service was fine.

My wife and I went here on a spontaneous date, before we were officially dating! The seafood platter for 1 was enough for both of us! This place is great :)

Amazing food. Amazing service. Came back 3 times while staying in Dunedin! Quick turnaround on meals too.

Prime Eye Fillet = not over filling but very nice cut
Blue Cod = ultra fresh and melts in your mouth!

Definitely coming back next time I'm in town!

Always wonderful service, stunning food and a great place to have a meal. Certainly one of my favourite places to dine.

A pricey way to eat fish and chips. The last time I went here was with friend and for dinner. The other time with my husband. They were both curious and craved for seafood. You will have a good feed if you have a deep pocket. They don't serve anything special. It is just the prospect of having seafood that makes this restaurant look enticing. I was disappointed both times.

Had a great meal at The Reef. Awesome food for lunch and great service. They catered really well to the kids and the kids dessert was amazing - they loved it. The blue cod was awesome and so was the mixed shellfish platter. Highly recommend to any lover of seafood. We will be back.

Staff were outstanding, meal took half an hour to arrive which was understandable given the place was packed.
As a seafood lover I thoroughly enjoyed my meal (oysters f/b whole flounder). Was of impeccable freshness and quality.
My only regret would be not staying in Dunedin long enough to sample more of this delicious menu.will definitely be back! A high light of our stay in a beautiful city!
