Love this little place. Beautiful area good food and often have live music. It attracts a diverse range of people and everyone gets alone. Nice for a meal or a quick drink

An amazingly varied menu, reasonable prices, and our group of 28 all had our meals rolled out piping hot, and close together so none of us had finished before others began. Now that's an achievement!

Great place to relax and unwind in the sun. Nice and quiet. Great meal and drinks with friends. Friendly staff. Only downside is it's a bit of a drive if you don't live in puketapu

Great place for a low key meal - typical country pub with a great menu selection and friendly people. The only downfall was the service was a bit slow.

This place is at the end of one of the best sections of bike trails around Hawke's Bay. This sets a bit of a high bar, you want good food at the end of a good ride. The Puketapu delivers on that, offering very good pub food, and a nice covered outdoors area to eat in. Don't come here expecting the very best in fine cuisine, instead this place is great for sitting down, chatting over a drink, and enjoying a good-sized meal with it.
