  Got the lamb shank meal and it was really good. Pretty unique and flashy inside with massive tv screens to watch while eating, great atmosphere. One of the better places to go to when in south Auckland.

  Great place to eat either casual or dining. Watch big sports occasions like the All Blacks or add I did Joseph Parker v H. Fury.
  Tidy, clean, great wait staff. Will be visiting again . . .

  Nice large establishment. High ceilings. Outdoor seating with heating. Big bar area for service. Hosted a large private function well. Good beer and liquor options and easy to park in the area.

  Have been here twice now in past month, lunch and dinner.
  Service was poor both times. Layout is somewhat strange. Time to receive food and drinks is poor also.
  Steak meal for dinner, steak cooked to perfection, the rest of the plate didn't really marry together, weird flavours.
  Open steak sandwich for lunch, steak cooked average, weird flavours in the sandwich that just don't work.
  Wouldn't recommend with this menu, and prices.

  Really nice pub/restaurant with massive led screens for sports fans and a upmarket dining experience! Food was really good and reasonably priced as well. Decent size servings. Recommended!

  What's up with that day manager? My husband and I came after 1pm on a Friday afternoon (when most people are finishing their lunch) and asked the waitress if we could sit at one of the booths as the other seating options where right in the sun (too hot) or just by people going and passing near the bar. Before the waitress had time to answer, a middle aged women who seemed to be the day manager, yelled at us "NO!", without even looking at us or giving us an explanation. The waitress, who seemed embarrassed, tried to explain to us that maybe a big group will come and want to sit there. She offered us the seats in the sun. We just had to decline and went elsewhere for our lunch.
  I've had great experiences before at The Blacksmith with other staff but this time was a real let down. We might just stick to come in the evenings in the future (hoping this woman doesn't manage the night shifts as well!).
