We camped here for three nights around the cycle challenge in November. The place is very clean and the best appointed camp site I have ever stayed at. The two kids facilities are top notch and there are hot pools here. If it wasn't so far from our house we would make this a regular retreat.

Best selection of pools we have seen so far. On a sunny day lovely with young kids. The pools and facilities are really showing its age though and the prices are quite steep even for visitors of the campgrounds.

The shared bathroom was awesome with nonstop music although it's a unisex one. Room was comfortable. It has TV, water heater jug and heater. Tidy shared kitchen and dining room.

Accommodations are nice and clean and have everything we needed. Very fast check-in and check-out process. Love that guests get a discount on the pools. The pools were a bit old but still very nice (although it's a bit of a long way down if you're walking). All-in-all a good place to stay in Taupo.

Great place to stay if you are travelling through the North Island with kids. They love the water slides and jumping pillow. Staff are helpful. Accomodation is clean and tidy. Would recommend

Booked into a chalet which was clean, nice and quiet. The staff member wasn't all that friendly when we showed up, took us to our chalet on her golf cart, felt like we were just dumped off and left. My husband said it's a camping ground maybe that's what they do. Our overall stay was great, the only place I have been to where you can shower without the lights on, as the shower had coloured lights that let the room up, sounds bizarre but I thought it was cool. The breakfast was absolutely lovely and the rest of the staff were great very friendly would love to bring our caravan through and stay here.

1st class holiday park. Beautiful sites and gardens. Great facilities with underfloor heating in the bathroom. If you're in Taupo you need to stay here!

Pricey, but damn was fun had! Slides, exhilarating. I rode the dragon and came out victorious! (Should change name of slide to Taniwha, love your culture.) Hot pools got even hotter when I dipped my toe in. Went at night, beautiful atmosphere. My practical friend enjoyed the secure lockers, much appreciated.

This resort claims 5 stars but it couldn't be further from that. We stayed in a "motel" room, which was very dated and somewhat dirty. There were spiders well established in all corners of the room, which showed nobody had cleaned there in a while.

The bathroom was also rather odd: the mirror was to the side of the sink rather than in front of it, the only hangers to be found anywhere were also in the bathroom. Overall the furniture was old and rather unpleasant. Housekeeping changed our towels but didn't make the beds.

The only plus was that the staff were friendly and helpful. However, I would not recommend staying here.

Me and my partner stayed at DeBretts for two nights, attracted by the amazing reviews. However, not sure if we were just unlucky with the accommodation we were given or if we missed something
Good things first - staff has been absolutely fantastic throughout. At the motel and the pools. Friendly and helpful.
The accommodation was a different story - we were greeted by several spiders in each corner with a rather big one just having cought a big fly hanging on the lamp above our heads. We went to reception in order to obtain a broom and insect spray to clean out the room. Overall, the room was very dated and dusty and not pleasant at all. We were considering checking out the same day and move to nearby Hilton but that would have been extremely pricy as we had already paid for the room at DeBretts in advance. As I said, maybe we were just unlucky as some of the reviews talk about amazing, clean rooms. We just didn't see any of that.

The pools at night were magical. Our toddler had the best nights sleep after a bath in them! Merticulously kept sites and every amenity available.

A lot of children and very busy. Clean-ish. Was expecting something much more relaxing, less noisy, less busy. Go there if you have kids, they'll love it. Don't if you expect a relaxing romantic afternoon/evening

Absolutely fantastic camping and pool experience. Definitely one of the easiest and most convenient campsites I have stayed on anywhere in the world. Staff are super accomodating. Campsites are generally quite generous, able to handle more than one large tent.

the Camp Kitchen is superbly equipped with urns, fridges, freezers, barbecues, chilled filtered water, even sets of knives and forks and plates should you have forgotten yours.

The unisex bathrooms are beautifully finished and very well set up for privacy.

The pools are a delight, my kids managed to run up and down the stairs for the slides for 11 straight hours
