Third world comes to mind. Quite surreal to see a new rebuilt hospital, run by incompetent fools who can't seem to get things working. Doctors visiting from outside the area once a month? Public would be willing to be operated on in a barn - Hey, we've a world class hospital! but hardly any drs to speak of. Taranaki rate payers were well and truly ripped!
My personal experience - Bumped off the list at the 11th hour! After sorting out leave from work ect. Even after informing admitting staff I work offshore. So now the dr expects me to wait for a call and take off another two weeks? Where's compensation for my time?
Unimpressed by the attitude of two registrars in A&E. Male registrar (Maori) arrogant and rude, female registrar (name Sarah) appeared blase and needs to improve her communication skills with patients. Also overheard them gossiping about patients. Unprofessional and disappointing. Didn't feel like a particularly safe place to be in an emergency situation.
Awesome care when we were there staying daughter become unwell care amazing
Ward 3 staff were on the whole friendly to visitors, and caring about patients
Have been here a lot lately. Our medical system ticks slowly but my family and I always come away feeling well looked after.
