    ***TO AVOID***

Very dirty inn (dead cockroaches in the kitchen), cold and dishonest boss

With a friend, we arrived at this hostel because we responded to an ad on backpakerboard that offered us a job and a bed in a hostel. Arrival in the hostel (the boss didn't tell us the name of the hostel until we arrived) horror. The boss is very cold man, dirty inn (dead cockroaches in the kitchen). We started working 3 days later but we wanted to change hostel. When we told the boss that we wanted leave his hostel, he first tried to make us believe that we were bound by contract (which was not the case it is only a simple hostel) He finally put us out at 6pm (without worrying that we had no car or place to sleep, the hostel being a few miles from town) the boss is an angry, dishonest man.

For $ 140 per week, there are a few hostels on blenheim which are fairly clean, which will also help you find a job.

    ***A EVITER***

Owners are really rude and do not know how to run a hostel properly. You just do not feel welcome in this hostel, it starts off with the owners just being rude to you and it seems they're always in a cranky mood. You need to pay a bond for general kitchen supplies like plates, pans, cutlery because they only provide some baking ware. Lights in Showers are time limited, so if you're having a shower longer than 5 minutes you need to get out and turn the light on again. The stoves in the kitchen were also really bad and tool forever to heat up.
Do not recommend staying there at all, keep away from this hostel if you're trying to enjoy your stay in Blenheim!

Very Terrible Experience!!! DO NOT STAY HERE IF POSSIBLE!!!!!
    1. NO HEATING!!!! EVEN IT IS FREEZING COLD OUTSIDE, THERE IS NO HEATING IN THE ROOM AT ALL!!! SO BE PREPARED IF YOU ARE GOING TO STAY HERE DURING THE WINTER
    2. SHOWERING TIME LIMIT!! THE MOST FAMOUS DESIGH OF THIS HOSTEL IS THIER 'TIMING POWER SWICH', WHICH IS EVERYWHERE INCLUDING BATHROOM N DINING ROOM. THAT MEANS WHILE YOU ENJOYING YOUR SHOWER, SUDDENLY ALL THE LIGHTS ARE GONE AND YOU NEED TO PUT ON YOUR CLOTHES IN COMPLETELY DARKNESS. IT'S JUST HORRIBLE.
    3. NO PUBLIC DINNERWARE PROVIDED. IF YOU WANT ANYTHING, PAY 30 BUCKS FIRST FOR THE DINNERWARE RENTAL. (FIRST INNOVATION IN WHOLE NZ HOSTEL INDUSTRY)
