One of the best restaurant's in New Plymouth. It has some of the best food I've ever had. I rate it as a have to try!!
Superb authentic Japanese cuisine with friendly staff and a nice dinning environment with tastefully designed Japanese decor to make your dinning experience traditional. Great selection of Japanese Sake. You can even be seated right in front of your Sushi Chef and watch your meal selection be created as you dine.
Bendo is very tasty. Chicken cruise all good!
Friendly staff, amazing food, not over priced! Well worth a visit!
I haven'y been to a restaurant yet that does better food than Sushi Ninja, the staff are friendly, the food is amazing. I wouldn't recommend another place to eat more than this place. They do lunch and dinner. A++
I went there for months , for so long that I hardly went to any other restaurant. I was ordering the 'vegan' sushi as well, or so I thought it was vegan, seeing as it was labeled 'vegan' and the workers there always assured me it was 'vegan'. Well one day I went in there to get the 'vegan' sushi and decided to ask a lady whom was working there, just to be sure (for the 20th time it felt like as I always purchased sushi from there) if the sushi was 100% vegan, well, low and behold she admitted that the tofu was soaked in fish sauce and the batter was made in the same fryer as the meat. This place is NOT vegan friendly!!! I will never come here again, and I recommend for people to stay away from this place, unless they decide to clean up their act.
Favourite Place to be right now
I have travelled extensively throughout Japan and eaten in some of New Zealand's best Japanese restaurants, but nothing like this before. I don't mind paying for excellent food, but the food served here is nothing more than Japanese pub food dressed up as authentic cuisine. As far as Ninja Sushi's Japanese cuisine goes, the food is actually ok Tasty, authentic and full of flavour. But it's still just pub food, the type Salary-men go and whoof down at the end of a long night of overtime and drinking with colleagues. But I cam guarantee they wouldn't pay what these guys are charging. The serious issue I have with this restaurant is value for money. It just simply isn't. For example, Sashimi - 3 slices of salmon for $10.00! The extreme is 15 slices for $39.00. That's equivalent to what some of the best restaurants in Wellington charge for a dozen bluff oysters! 3 pieces of Takoyaki for $9.00. 3 pieces is honestly likely to cost them $0.50c to make. It's Japanese Street food that is quintessentially junk food.
This is restaurant is massively inflated for what you get. Unless you're prepared to pay for incredibly over-priced Japanese food, I would suggest looking elsewhere for dinner. 4 adults, $150 later, we left hungry, thirsty and rather disappointed. 1-star.
Love the menulove the food. Always great service. One of my favourite restaurants !
