Just back from NZ holiday. One highlight was dining at the Star and Garter. Despite being a very busy Saturday night our meals were scrumptious and the service excellent. The wait staff were friendly and warm. They made it look so effortless even though the restaurant was full and busy.

Hearty food in plentiful portions served in a setting straight out of the turn of the century. We had the fish of the day and the roast of the day, and were thoroughly stuffed for our drive on to Dunedin. On a blustery afternoon (such as you are very likely to find in Oamaru!), drive on past the Steampunk HQ and settle yourselves here for a delicious lunch in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
