  I really like this museum. Inside an enormous historical mansion which used to have hot baths inside that you can see. Cool exhibits

  Really enjoyed our visit. Very interesting displays about the cultural and geological history of the area. And a great art exhibition on Rembrandt while we were there. The building itself has a really interesting history as a public bath house using the local geothermal mud and water. Old parts of the building are in display. And a great view from the roof. :)

  Rotorua Museum has a fascinating history. The museum is actually quite eerie as it houses the remnants of an elite class and an odd brand of pseudo-science where patients would go to "take the cure."
  
  As for the more modern parts, there is an excellent cafe, gift shop, and educational area for children. While there we were entertained by a beautiful opera singer as well.
