Service was slow. Waited about 5-10 mins. Nobody served us. Had to go through to public bar to see where staff were. Nice guy served us there and took us through to dining and found someone for us. One waitress lovely other one not so good.

Stopped here on a motorcycle run and grabbed a drink. The staff were friendly but I can’t comment on their food unfortunately as there wasn’t enough time to try any!

I felt so sorry for the staff. Three of us went for dinner. The online menu had not been updated and had multiple items that were no longer available, a shrimp cocktail starter was completely tasteless, three options on the dessert menu were unavailable and one of the brownies was burnt. The staff did the best they could, given the situation and were completely professional and pleasant to deal with.

Despite all of the recent great reviews, our dining experience consisted of none of the items we'd seen on the online menu being available, no hot vegetarian option, ingredients of a soup couldn't be checked because it was "made by the previous chef" a tasteless shrimp cocktail, being offered options for a dessert that turns out not to be available and finally a burnt chocolate brownie.

Awesome meals,reasonable prices and updated decor makes this one of the better places to eat in Balclutha.

Went to a wedding service followed by dinner. The staff went above and beyond to make the day wonderful. The food was done well.
