Great spot top of town-Christchurch. Next to the river.Even walking to Blacks Point, and the suspension bridge across the river. Nestled between conifer trees. Big oval. Kitchen is ample ovens, hot plates, microwaves. Tables, chairs. Woodburner for warmth. Theres also a tv on the wall. Outdoor seating as well. Toilets and showers great. Lovely hot water.
A lot of spots get full sun. Tenties can use the oval and find shade.
Cash or eftpos. No credit cards.
Hosts friendly.
Loved it.
Now wander into town and enjoy.

Asked (politely to the best of my ability, after pressing the bell at reception as requested and waiting a few minutes) to have a look at the facilities prior to paying which I thought was a reasonable request? The man there responded after looking at me aggressively by asking for my ID, to which I agreed as its a reasonable request, when I was in the process of removing it from my wallet he started to have a yell at me, essentially accusing me of being a trespassing thief. I walked away with him shouting after me. It was a very weird, brief, aggressive interaction which put me off. DOC has a very nice campsite 5 mins down H7 which is cheaper too. The guy might have just been having a bad day but it completely put me off and he was the only negative experience I had in an otherwise lovely town inhabited by friendly, engaging people.

stunning little spot. raw west coast. a typically hidden gem and terribly under priced. remember, you are in rain forest, so the weather is often predictable but only adds to the charm. make sure you stop for a night in the west coast mountains. peaceful ++

A nice spot, with good cabins and they are a fair price. Plenty of sites for tents and caravans. The kitchen is quite old, but well equiped. A shame to see one party didn't have a good experience here - I have stayed a couple of times and found the staff very nice. Recommended.

The man who sits at reception desk is an incredibly rude person. He had not informed us that there was a checkout time of 10:30, there was no notice of it anywhere, nor was it written anywhere on our ticket or receipt. We were there during low season and there were only about 3 other cars there. When we didn't leave on time he marched towards us and in a very hostile tone asked us what we were doing, when we said we were packing up he angrily told us that we should have left at 10:30. Even though we apologised for overstaying, and told him truthfully that this was the first motor camp we had stayed at in New Zealand, his tone did not change and he rudely reprimanded us as if we were naughty children. We we absolutely shocked at how he treated us, given that we were paying customers, weren't doing anything wrong and weren't disturbing anyone - for there was hardly anyone there to even disturb! I would advise all campers to avoid this place and stay at a DOC site or go to another town where you will not have to encounter such obscenely rude service.

I recently visited Reefton for a weekend camping trip and spent two nights at the Reefton Domain Motor Camp. Located on the edge of town next to the river it is very easy to find and offers a spacious camping environment with a combination of tent sites and powered sites sheltered by a stand of trees. The lady in the office was very friendly and welcoming making me feel right at home as soon as I set foot on the premises - she is a very nice lady who really gives the motor camp a homely feel.

Very close to the supermarkets and shops Reefton Domain Motor Camp offers a spacious layout with plenty of room for everyone. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to spend a few days in Reefton.
