Deano was fantastico!! Accomodated the teenage children well. Lunch pre-rafting and dinner post-rafting included in price. Had a great time rafting - no casualties (unfortunately all children survived!). Grade 5 rapids! Guides were great. Only downside is that photos were an extra (not insignificant) cost.

I have done many rafting adventures (Bali, Peru, Czech Republic) and this was the best! The length was perfect (2 hours on the river), the rapids were a lot of fun (from grade 1-5). The instructors coached the entire crew how to maneuver including 350m long grade 5 rapid, which was super exciting! At some point you can also dunk into the river, now it is a glacier river, which means freezing, so when you are short of breath because of cold water, just keep swimming :-). All in all a super fun adventure!

We had a great time at Rangitata rafts. The staff are friendly and fun, the food is yummy. We were unlucky with the rapids and ended up in the water through the grade 5 rapid, however the team quickly ensured that everyone was safe and healthy. Despite the shock, we had an awesome time. Thanks guys.

I can't recommend Rangitata Rafts enough! I have rafted several rivers in NZ and the Western US, and this was my favorite experience by far! Super fun river, great staff, and delicious food! There are a few easier rapids to start which give newbies a chance to gauge if they feel confident enough to do the big rapids, if not they can get out and walk. Our whole group did the entire trip and loved it! The guides are experienced and make sure you feel safe and have a great time. The trip finishes with a delicious BBQ with Kiwi hospitality! Moral of this review-- GO!

It's a bunch of cow boys who can control their boats.
You have a large river with one big stone in the middle before the rapid, and the guy manage to hit the stone and make the boat flip.
I can tel l you that is more comfortable to gas down the rapid in the boat than next to the boat.response / report this review -

Mixed feelings. Organized staff. Great rafting. But they didn't really care that one from our group almost passed out after that our raft flipped.

Our rafting guide Matt Hern was great & provided full of encouragement in our river journey & through the thundering hail. Absolutely awesome experience & for that we say "Ka ki tea anoa'

Had never rafted before and this is one great place to do it! The Rangitata Gorge is absolutely awesome and pretty. These guys have a well thought out program, very well organized and the guides are excellent. We had lunch, rafted, bbq dinner, and of course photos were taken (~$50). We practically spent the entire day there and had an excellent time. Young Matt was our boat's captain and he did a super job navigating us through the rapids without flipping. I'd definitely go again.
