It's a decent walk but nice views best around winter when the river is flowing at it's best. If you have family and it summer there is a few safe spots to swim however you will have to watch out as there is also jetboating activity in the proximity and I think they also offer bungy jump so in the summer it's definitely got a few things to do. Also if you have dogs they will enjoy the area too.

Take a time to be here. Take your gear up! Stay at river shore enjoy sun- go for a walk. Also can organize & enjoy barbecue there. #greatplace

One should definitely make a short stop here for stunning views of the turquoise river with the beautiful bridge and the far away mountains as background. Plenty of parking spaces with toilet facility. Careful with your eyes and nose if it's windy as there will be dust flying around.

Absolutely stunning :D. My friend and I went here as it was close to where we were staying, the sun was out and the water looked so perfect! I can't wait to visit some other places! The walks and the views are fantasic; different lengths of walks depending on what you're up for, the longest says it will take 4 hours!

Part of the scenic route driving towards Christchurch. The views and roads are incredible. Plenty of placed to stop over and have a break/picnic etc. Definitely worth the longer route
