Took kids in for an ice cream and were rudely told they weren’t doing ice cream because they were short staffed. Didn’t look busy at all.

Meal was made within specified time, staff were attentive, we had fish and chips, burger and potato scallops, all were good. Solid meal for a reasonable price (I'm from Sydney though so my views on pricing may be skewed).

Horrible service, said they would accept last orders at 7:30 went there at 7:25 and they refused to take our orders as they were closing soon. Ran out of ice cream flavours the next day and they didn't seem to care.

Staff need to smile and the owner seems to be taking advantage of a monopoly of the market they have and don't think they need to provide quality food or service to go along with their steep prices.

Easily the worst fish and chips I have had. After telling my partner for so long how great the fish and chips are in NZ compared the the UK we had the misfortune of getting some here which had awful chips, what I assume was frozen pieces of battered fish from the super market. Great, thanks Pauanui Takeaways, now I have to put up with my partner taking the piss out of me every time we get fish and chips in the UK and reminding me of how crummy your food was.
