If yiu love meeting Kia, the mountain parrot, and get a good Scenic lookout, then Otira Viaduct Lookout is great. Parking for handful of vehicles including campers.

Interesting spot to stop for a few minutes and admire the view. If you are lucky then you might find some cheeky kea that are sure to amuse.

Good place to stop after negotiating the windy road. Great view of the viaduct and valley and usually a few keas hanging around looking for photo opportunities

We met a couple of Kea here. Be careful with these birds, they are rare and precious. Absolutely lovely. The Viaduct is nice - birds cooler.

Visited in April 2016, it was drizzling when we drove here. No other visitors, no sign of Kea (damn, really disappointed). But the view is really magnificent, it just makes you feel so tiny to stand in front of the divide of great mountains. Be careful with the traffic around, steep road and zigzagging road.
