Very rushed tour. You couldn't linger in any room of interest and if you had back problems, you couldn't use any surface for support whilst listening to the guide waffle on.
Can't take photos anywhere inside which was a disappointment.
The best part was a walk through the garden

I just think they charge too much. Would be nicer if it is $10.00 each.

Beautifully preserved home with original furnishings art and porcelain that the owners collected throughout their lifetime knowledgeable friendly guides take you on a tour throughout the house or you can wander through the beautiful Gardens for free

This was the highlight of our visit to Dunedin central, a lavish domestic snapshot of the early New Zealand rich merchant class. It was a bit quirky (like the Japanese sword collection greeting visitors) and the expensive bric-a-brac made it feel like a home rather than a display. Our guide was amiable and knowledgeable, but also a bit deaf, and didn’t hear some of our questions

This was the highlight of all our tours. Really nice atmosphere though the rooms were stuffed with too much objada. We should have left a little more time.

What a place, looks like it's been frozen in time. I wasn't sure I'd like this not been a huge history buff but I actually enjoyed the tour and learn't some new things about Dunedin I did not know and I've lived here since I was just 6 years old. Well worth it and not expensive at all.

A must visit attraction when in Dunedin (and for locals too). Great to see such well preserved architecture, social and artistic heritage. Will be back. Beautifully kept gardens too.
