  A great place for a relaxing afternoon . A little bit far away from the city which makes this place unique. Nice pumpkin soup and coffee.

  We were going to stay in the Whitehouse on top of the hill but after arriving there we found the place had a lot of cockroaches inside the cabin. I Killed about 10-15 of them with fly spray before my wife said "enough I'm not staying here", as she said this a cockroach crawled out of part of the ceiling that was falling down.
  Its a shame as it was a really cool spot and with some tidying, alterations to the cabin (it's more of a caravan) and trimming of the brush over the cabin (Insect heaven), it would be amazing.
  The owners seemed nice and were not upset at our leaving. They did say "that's what we you get out in the country" which doesn't really make up for what could be called a infestation.
  Sad as I really wanted to go through the cave the next day.
  After getting back home found out that some friends had the same experience with the same out come (Leaving).
  So if you're traveling from afar just be little warey of the whitehouse on the hill.

  We had lunch here with the kids on a rainy day and loved it. The setting is spectacular, the food is good and authentic and the staff really welcoming. We grabbed a few books from the well stocked library and sat down by the fire. Well worth the drive from our farmstay in Mercer (kereru farmstay..also highly recommended). Thanks!

  Thank you. Great experience and outdoor adventure for good price. Friendly staff delicious food. Next time we'll stay overnight.
