It was clean and tidy but very compact with limited storage. No chairs or table. The staff were friendly. The Wi-Fi worked. Some bits need fixing - we had difficulty opening the door until we learnt the trick.

Bought a beautiful looking birthday cake here. Bright red icing, pink meringue and strawberries. It was a vanilla strawberry cake. The icing was some sort of red jelly substance. The sponge was doughy and the filling was a red jelly substance. It was sadly awful. Looked lovely but tasted terrible. $41. Would have happily paid more for a decent cake. Very disappointed.

The beer - oh my god, the beer! Such a wonderful range (is there better - anywhere??), and nicely augmented by a wide variety of non-beer things too. Best supermarket in NZ.

One of the best New World supermarkets in Wellington. This one definitely has the best bakery. The cakes are incredible. We go out of our way to shop here.

Really amazing craft beer selection compared to even decent bottle shops. Excellent Deli with fantastic cuts of meat. Excellent bakery with top notch designer cakes and treats.

Hadn't been to NW Thorndon in years and found that it had improved significantly. Clean, bright and oh so enticing. The layout has improved. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The lighting was used cleverly to highlight the food. The delicatessen was mouthwateringly stocked with fresh and colourful delights. Caution: this dizzying sensory overload experience came with a hefty price tag as my husband and I shopped as if we had been wandering in the desert for years. We are still going back once we have saved up for more oysters, salmon, tuna, scotch filet.

We use NW Thorndon as our local dairy as we don't have one near us. We also buy most of our groceries there and I have to say - the staff are all SUPER friendly and SUPER helpful. The wine section has a great selection. In 15 years of shopping there we have never had a bad experience.

The team at New World were incredibly helpful & knowledgable staff with wine when it came to choosing wine for our wedding. They helped us to find the wines with lots of great suggestions and deals. They even helped us to get our favourite wine in especially for us. I'd highly recommend Reese and the team for any big occasion where you need help to select wine!

Great supermarket with lost of variety you rarely see anywhere else. Easy parking and access to/fr the motorways. Bring a New World Club card for some specials.

Very bright and tidy place. Nice selection of ready to eat meals. Staff were friendly and helpful. There doesn't seem to be the greatest selection of foods, though. Felt like the bakery department could be greater.
