Great ski field, update ski info regularly and has an awesome vibe. If you ski anywhere in NZ, let it be here!
Mountain location means the snow is very wind swept and frozen, causing you to just ride ice if you go anywhere off the groomers. Due to this the groomers are very busy. Better options in the area for the same price.
Would 100% recommend Mt Hutt as the number 1 attraction for skiing and snowboarding.
Prices are a bit expensive but it is absolute value. The skiing lessons were amazing , i was able to pick up the basics due to a very instructive and extremely fun lessons from an American female ski teacher.
The drive was picturesque, but rough. Make sure to check the weather and snow report and always carry snow chains!
They shut the lifts down at the slightest weather issue. which absolutely over crowds the place. Amazing field otherwise! Just be careful of the amount of people they allow up when there will be known lift closures due to weather.
Been here yearly for many years now. Hands down best ski field in the Canterbury region. Great service but most importantly, great ski field! Great wide runs and range of difficulty levels. Here now on the best day of the season car parks are entirely full! Had to copter up! Still worth. Just fantastic!
Beautiful up top. Friendly service at the cafe. Skii lessons are offered at reasonable prices. The roads get too narrow sometimes though, on the way up.
Best resort skiing in the South Island.
Very crowded on the weekends and best to bring your own food as is expensive and poor quality.
Mt Hutt is such a great mountain with fast lifts and so much off piste terrain when there's enough snow. The access road can get busy in the weekends and particularly on Sundays, so get up there early.
Definitely one of the best ski slopes. Stunningly groomed trails, make sure to get there early! The 6 person chair makes it really enjoyable.
Awesome place to play with snow. Great Southern Alps, awesome view. This place is beautiful
Beautiful location, friendly staff, just the right size..big enough to have the facilities you would like to have but small enough to have a personal feel. This is a place more suited to the more experienced with essentially 1 green run, 3 blue and heaps of black. NOTE: for me, there were no queues, there was heaps of fresh snow and the weather was fantastic.. I hear 2016 has not produced much snow and has produced a lot of wind. This has resulted in many 'Mount Shut' days followed by days where the locals head for the mountain all at the same time to catch new snow. Think 4 hours + from Christchurch to the top of the mountain, 25+ minute queues for the lifts..
